Won't hold fuel pressure or prime. LT1
Won't hold fuel pressure or prime. LT1
New LT1 ran for 5-10 minutes. Will prime at 10 psi will run for a few seconds off 12psi. Will lose the prime after the pump stops. 2 new pumps from a 350 TPI, new fuel pressure regulator, is there a check valve thats my problem?

there is a hose that connects the pump to the hardline in the tank. Its really thick, only 2" long and zip ties onto the pump and hardline. I've seen those develope a leak or crack that is sometimes hard to see.
If your FPR is good, then it must be in the tank. Almost sounded like you installed the TBI pump, but if its dumping pressure that fast, you probably have in-tank problems. Also, check the hardline to make sure its not crushed anwhere and the softlines to make sure they are not twisted or kinked.
Might be a good time to do the fuel pump removal flap in the rear hatch area.

I'm pretty sure you can get a gas tank rebuilt kit (?). I'm sure if you use fuel injected fuel line though, that you could hose clamp in on there.
Another thing to try is dead head the pump. Hook up a pressure gauge to the high pressure side, and then pinch the return side with a vice grips. Don't crush it, just pinch it. If you have ANY kind of problem or weakness, this will make it evident for sure. Lol. It should pump up to 80-90psi and will likely blow apart anything that is causing a problem. Then go trace it down.

My money is on the hose in the tank. Use a piece of fuel injection hose and two good clamps. The factory retainers sometimes loose tension after they are removed.
Re: Won't hold fuel pressure or prime. LT1
defnitely sounds like the hose in the tank. I replaced a pump before I realized what the problem was. the rubber hose was split down the side. replaced it with a piece of fuel tubing and haven't had any problems in 4 years.
Re: Won't hold fuel pressure or prime. LT1
yeah i got fuel injection hose with fuel injection clamps for it. in the process of putting the rear end back together. wasnt sure about using that hoes inside the tank but when i looked at the origional for the third time it had a pronounced split. knew i shoulda taken care of it while it was out. i'll update on the outcome.

It happens. At least the parts guy didn't give you a TBI pump. Try to trouble shoot that! I pulled the tank 4 times in one night trying to figure out why I could only get 12psi.

Hey guys sorry no response, it runs. Runs good to, gonna drop it off at the shop tomorrow for the body work. If anyone in the NE or anywhere has the stuff to delete vats and air , rear O2s, PM me.
P.S. - I am the parts guy.
