Battery cable help
I need help wring my battery cables on my lt1 with my old 305 cables.
Well actually i need help with 1 cable.
I grouned the NEG cable on the front of my block. easy enough.
My POS cable has two wires. A huge black one that i routed to the big post on the starter. and a smaller red one, about 10 guage. Where does this smaller red one go? I know it needs to somehow hook into the charging system. It will not reach my alternator so i cant put it there.
Where did it go on the old setup?
My first thought was the small post on the starter but that doesnt make any sense after thinking about it.
Also, while im on the subject, where do i run the larger wire from the post of the alternator to? battery or big post on the starter i would assume.
Thanks

Re: Battery cable help
Well after a lot of trial and error, the smaller wire on the cable went to the post on the alternator. I got a good charge at around 13 volts. The bigger one went to the post on the starter.
