Mystery fuel rail fitting

This was on the rail when I got it. I have no idea what type of fitting this is. I need to convert it to -6AN. Any ideas?

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

Yeah, cut it off and weld on a -6AN or get the fuel line with the opposite connector on it.

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

Looks like the fuel rails from a truck engine? You should be able to get the fuel line from one of the trucks and use that.

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

It looks like a compression fitting (union) you can get from the hardware store. Is it brass?

I didn't get a chance to post again but after I thought about it again, that was my conclusion as well. Looks like a standard compression fitting.

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

How about another shot? from the side perhaps? Move the nut back and forth and get a couple shots of what all is going on there.... Does it look factory or like someone stuck it on?

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

Just in case someone runs across this fitting too, it's called a swagelok.

Unfortunitly I can't find a male to AN adaptor.

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

Looks like a compression fitting to me. Swagelok is a brand of compression fittings that are very high quality ( its all I used in my swap for fuel lines ). The main difference between the swageloks and regular compression fittings is the material ( swage uses high quality strong alloy stuff i used their stainless line ) and the swagelocs use two ferules that are tapered and lock together rather than the brass round ball thing that most use.

Anyways regardless all you need to make that fit is a compression fitting female to whatever size NPT you want to use. From there you can adapt to anything you want with a small coupler and another NPT to whatever

Hope that makes sense

Yes, It's a Swagelok fitting. The question is do you have the room needed to adapt to the other connection, and is the other connection on a flex hose, or tubing?
I don't think Swagelok has adapters for automotive fuel lines and as mentioned it may take a minimum of 2 adapters and that can take up a lot of room.

If there's enough tube behind that connector I'd cut it off and use something like Russell Performance tube and hose fittings.

Re: Mystery fuel rail fitting

Fortunately I have a lot of room to go from the rail to the pushlok hose I plan on using for fuel line. However, I do not want 4 inches of different connectors.

I found this: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...art=SS-PB6-SL6

Which I hope will enable me to go directly from the fuel rail fitting to the fuel hose. My main issue at the moment is that these fittings are not easily obtained unless you are a business.

If that fails, I might have to go with a new rail. There isn't much left and I'm not sure if the swagelok destroys the tube when you put it on. Is this the case?

I have some rails for sale if you need them. I'd like $40 for them shipped.

Thanks, but I'm not sure that truck rails will work with my setup... will they?
