Transferring my LS1! (Another LS1 swap)
Hey Everyone,
Yeah i know, its not what your all expecting, since its not in a thirdgen
Long story short, i had my iroc-z finished, with the 6.0L, but the interior was still a complete disaster. I found some rust on the underside of the car, and it started having some electrical issues (signals, and lighting were all weak)
Anyways, half way through battling this, i found a smoking deal on a '97 trans am roller for $900. Rust free florida car. I decided i couldnt pass up and scooped it up.
Saved my iroc-z from a hack job finished, and i threw the motor into my trans am. Still took a bit of swap work, though i must say it was alot easier then my iroc-z swap. I gotta admit i love the fact that everything works in my trans am. Its a goal that ive got for my iroc-z, to make it 100% perfect.
Anyways, here's some shots of my swap:
Here's what i started with:

Buttoned up!

Motorspec is pretty much the same, except i tamed the cam down.
Have a comp cams XR275HR-12 in it now, pacesetter 1 3/4 headers etc. Ive got a ford 8.8 thats going into it.
Now for my next 3 years of college im going to be building my iroc-z up into a turbo 347. Im going to make it run 9's, have it certified to 9.50 etc. Its a long term project now, but it will be done right!

I agree with you being crazy.
You amaze me how quickly you get these swaps done and the cars back to a running state. Holy crap...maybe you can take a few days off school and come down here and help me do the wiring on my swap

Haha thanks guys. It was originally a LT1/T56 car.
I worked as a construction labourer for a while, im only 18, so not having regular living expenses sure makes car building much easier!
That being said, its been built on alot of smokin deals, and ive built it all myself.
Nick - Give me a place to sleep, and feed me and ill be down!
Ill throw up some updated pictures of both the t/a and my iroc-z tonight. Im super pleased with how this one came out, i still want to get a WS6 hood onto it. then ill start my super iroc build!

Looks sick bro. Where do you get killer deals on the 6.0's? I am trying to find one at a decent price.
