ls1 turbo questions

Which exhaust manifolds work on a 3rd gen with ls1?
Also, which K member has the most clearance?

Re: ls1 turbo questions

are you asking what manifolds will work to flip around to use for a turbo system? I think the truck manifolds stick to far out and will hit the frame. Maybe stock manifolds. A tubular K member is gonna have more clearance the stock.. A lot more.

Yes I am asking which stock manifolds work, I thought I read somewhere that GTO manifolds work.. I know aftermarket ones have more clearance, I was more or less asking which one has the most.

I can say with 100% certainty that truck manifolds will fit and work. There is some clearancing and such that you will have to do though. I have seen the completed kit with my own eyes and it looked amazing.

I can second that truck manifolds will fit BUT I dont know how in the hell you could ever run a decent exhaust passed the engine without a tubular K so consider that a "must have" for this kind of build. Also the inlet ( TB intake piping ) requires some mighty fancy routing and/or mods to the rad support and rad mounting if you want to run an intercooler. Good luck

Re: ls1 turbo questions

C5, C6, GTO manifolds all are center exit which is exactly where your K-member is. They are also rather long so inverting them would put them through the hood

Camaro LS3 manifolds look promising

Check it out

Re: ls1 turbo questions

The C6 LS3 manifolds do look like they may work. I really would like to retain A/C. With those manifolds it just might.

Re: ls1 turbo questions

I'm in the process of Redoing my IROCBOOST from the STS setup and stock LS1 to a built 6.0 and a front mount turbo setup. I have truck manifolds, 98 manifolds, 2001 manifolds, and a set of hugger LS headers i might just have to chop up to make fit. I'll let you guys know what i can make fit. When i tried before the truck manis hit the stupid big *** steeering knuckle...

Keep us posted for sure! A lot of people cut the flange off and weld on a V-Band. Worth a shot?
