Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
The first picture is a brake switch, looks like the vacuum one for the cruise control.
I'm not sure what you're looking at/describing in the second photo. I see the wiring that plugs into your steering column and the two eye holes on the column that bolt to the under side of the dash...?

Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
so got a quick question for ya guys will 4th gen seat belts bolt in to a thirdgen??
Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
Definitely for the front belts, don't know on the rear belts. I got mine along w/ a set of leather seats from a 4th gen Trans Am and the whole thing was a direct bolt-in. Nice upgrade and you'll be glad you did it.
Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
Rears also bolt in. Problem with the fronts is the receiver at the rocker goes away leaving a hole. 82-83 Fbodys had no receiver down low but the rocker trim is almost always broken with those cars

Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
Rears only bolt in if you have factory shoulder belts in the back though right?
Fronts fit fine like everyone has said. On the bottom by the rocker trim, you have to get creative. One of my ideas was to take the cover off the stock thirdgen retractor, switch sides, and have the bottom part of the 4th gen belt come out of the little access cover hole, so that its pointed forward like you were wearing it.
Another option is to get a junk set of rocker covers...even just one will work. And cut a section out to make a cover plate.
Or find 82 rocker covers....since they didnt have lower retractors. But like pocket said finding those in good shape, for a good price...in your color is tough. I tried for a while, and opted for the second option of making cover plates for the holes.

Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
Wow finally i found someone with the same project i have in mind. I own a 1990 Firebird V6 but soon want to swap in the LQ4 or LQ9. Im leaning towards using the 700 R4(rebuilding it with a Hughes pro kit) and adding the Edelbrock carb intake. I found a simple parts list to get 480 hp out of the 6.0 using the intake, 750 Holley, GM Hot Cam kit and a set of headers. Im still debating whether what rear end to use. I got inspired by one of the FAQ boards into fortifying the 10 bolt to handle enough abuse. The 6.0 i found was from a Hummer H2 that had a wreck, no damage to the engine, and had 17,000 miles so the engine is just ready to bolt on

Re: 90 firebird formula merges with LQ4 ( questions!!! )
So a few things, friday my wife suprised me with a trip down to a junkyard she had found. ( I LOVE HER SO MUCH ) and we get there and i am like what in the world babe where are we at. the junkyard had no joke like 30 to 45 thirdgens. So i found stuff i needed for the interior and exterior. like new tail lights, interior panels. i got a question for ya guys do youthink i should go with the tan plastic? or the black? I am leaning towards the tan just cause i got tan seats and i am gonna be painting the car hunter green so that would be sick! any input on this would be helpfull.
Engine
Ordered gasket kit, arp head bolt, and oil pan kit i found on lstech so the motor will be going back together here soon woot woot

Green cars look great with tan/beige interior but I would go black carpet regardless of the other interior color

Looks like you still have the whole interior apart, so do you plan on adding some sort of sound insulation?
I may have to confiscate those seats.

Use the fourth gen high pressure line and you can just use a regular piece of hose with clamps for the return side. But since you have both hoses complete I would just use them as they are.
