Thanks a lot to this forum for giving me all the help and resources to get my swap done. I was wondering what others have ran with their cars. mine is a 90 rs hard top with hard core weight reduction, true duals with 15/8 primary long tubes, underdrive pully, lt4 km. 6 speed with 342s lca an mt et streets
.1787
2.0259............60ft
5.4951............330ft
8.3470............1/8 et
84.99..............1/8 mph

just wondering what other people were running

Re: Lt1 swap 1/8 mile times
Mine is slightly different, its the B-body LT1 in an 89 TransAm GTA, so iron heads, smaller cam. No weight reduction at all. CAI, shorty headers, and a SLP 2otL cat-back. 3.23 LS1 rear.

Can't say i'm dissapointed with it. As long as you don't flub the launch, its a consistent 102mph car. Best run was a 13.593 @ 102.37mph with a 2.15x average 60 foot. crappy radials, super stiff suspension with Spohn LCAs.

Re: Lt1 swap 1/8 mile times
It sounds like it is running pretty good. Mine went 8.901 in the 1/8. I'm sure it had a 8.8 in it. I'm also using a iron headed b-body lt1.

B-bodys got a slightly more aggressive cam to offset the lower compression from the iron heads

F vs B-body LT1s are very similar for performance

No, they have a smaller cam to give them more low end punch to haul the heavier B-body cars around.

The iron heads flow slightly better, but its usually offset by the increased compression with the aluminum heads.

Hey guys, I know this is a old post but im reviving it anyways. Im just about finished with my swap and im curious of a what it may run before I finish the interior(need to know if I will need any safety gear). Im running a 84 ta that was turned into a formula. lt1 350 mahle pistons and rods, le2 heads,gm847cam, le intake,1 3/4 hooker long tubes, ram hd clutch with a t56. Any ideas. THis is just for a idea on my speed and time.

You + Dragstrip = Answer.

J/K, I dont' know. What do you think its making? There are estimators out there that are pretty close. But being a manual you probably won't see those #'s unless you are dead reliable.

Re: Lt1 swap 1/8 mile times
Im not sure if it wants rwhp or fwhp on this calculator.....If it wants rwhp i figured 3000lbs with me in it and 370rwhp. 11.61@116.48

If it wants fwhp, 3000lbs and 425fwhp shows a 11.09@121.98 pass.
How fast can I run before a cage of some sort is needed?

You'll have to run it, or dyno it if you want an answer. Who knows if its running right.

Before I ran my GTA at the strip after the swap I thought for sure it would only be a high 13 second ride. I was adamant that I'd be lucky to see a 13.8 or a 13.9 out of it.

Instead it just ran a 13.35 @ 102.8mph.

Re: Lt1 swap 1/8 mile times
my old le setup trapped between 112-114. That was with a stock shortblock and a hotcam with a really old set of lloyds heads. In that configuration the car put down 350whp/360wtq. I haven't had the car dynoed or to the track with the current Ai 355. If everything is right Ron at Ai said, the car should be between 420-440whp and trap between 118-120mph. btw my car goes around 3500lbs without me in it.
Hope this gives you a ballpark.

That set up could be close to 400 rwhp depending on who did your tune. Thats enough power to go pretty fast. Trying to estimate 1/8 mile times really depends on how well you can drive, weight, rear suspension, tires, etc....
