Which transmission? How many miles? Was it well maintained?
If it's low mileage (which most aren't), it isn't too bad.

My take, for what it's worth, is if it is not a screaming deal, hold out for an LS. The LTs are much better than the L98s, but the LSs were from a clean sheet of paper and are beautiful.

not worth it, you can get a full pullout from a LS car for that or less, definitely with less miles. In fact on LS1tech there are a few full pulls from LY6/L92 trucks for about 2800 or so. And that INCLUDES engine/trans/harness/accesories etc.

It really depends. Lot of questions I would be asking. Is the tranny rebuilt? Are there a lot of good parts on the car that could be sold - like 17 inch wheels, body parts, aftermarket wheels, tails, leather seats, t-tops. Is the engine rebuilt? Performance parts? Will they take a couple hundred dollars less? I would probably walk away from any engine/tranny that is over 100,000 miles though unless I had plans to rebuild.
