Is it just me or....
Is the smallest details which take the longest on an LSX build.... I tapped my 700r4 case's hole which the dipstick would go to and drilled out the hole on the tranny dipstick tube. My plan was to put a 1in bolt in there to secure it. Well dumb me I should have put it in before the engine. Now with the tube in, the dam hole I drilled is too small. I cant get the tube out to redrill and the more I mess with it to file the hole bigger or anything, it totally bent the mount and scratched my newley painted firewall. I've been dealing with this for 4 hours!!!! Should have been 5 minutes....

Next time around!!. The tranny and converter is about a year old with 800 miles on it.
Re: Is it just me or....
I used a conduit clamp from Lowe's on the rear of my pass cyl head to hold the trans dipstick down. Mine is a 4L60E so I didnt have the bolt hole to tap out

Ahh. I take that back. mines a 4L60E too but from a 94 LT1 lol. So it still the "old" case design. BTW I got it tongiht after a few more hours.
Re: Is it just me or....
Same applies. Im using my original 700R4 dipstick in the newer 98+ 4L60E. Hole doesnt move from 700R4's to 4L60/E's mostly because each redesign uses the same basic case
