LS1 carb'd ??

OK so i def wont be attempting this anytime soon. but as i was browsing i found a few people who had carbed an ls1. if that can be done would it be possible to TBI an ls1? just use a carbed intake with tbi adapter plate? and maybe a 454 tbi or something like that. just wanted to know if it was possible

I'm going to say no. You could mount everything up probably, but since the factory distributor is what fires the injectors, you would have problems with that.

Why bother with the TBI though in the first place? Either just carb it, or take advantage of the much better fuel injection setup the LS1 already has.

Re: LS1 carb'd ??

TBI is junk for any performance in the first place, and expecting it to keep up with the high revving LS engines? Couldnt tune it even if it would fire the injectors. They just cannot keep up. Just do a budget carb setup and make more power than EFI or go EFI if you have the cash and want a bt more drivability.
