Gm oil pan?
Hey guys, I just saw this new oil pan for a ls1 in the new jegs magazine. Part number is-#809-19212593. I drove up to jegs today to check it out and buy a roll cage. It looks really similar and fits 55-02 or something like that but doesnt tell me much. The part im really liking is that it includes oil pan/pickup/dipstick/gasket/windage tray. Its only $159.99 and tahts alot better than paying more than that for used ****. Anyone know if it will fit?

Re: Gm oil pan?
It's about the same length as the aftermarket old school gen 1 deep sump sbc pans, which means if you hit something the kmember is higher than the oil pan and the pan will take the hit

That pan id the LH8 pan (also know as the hummer or muscle car pan). It is shorter than the truck pans but longer than the f bod pan. Its a no go for 3rd gens.

Well, they just make what they need and we use what works, the F body pan does fit our older F bodies.

Re: Gm oil pan?
GM parts direct still sells the F-bod pans for ~$170, and they can be had used for around $100. That kind of prevents anyone from getting into the market, since whatever some one came out with would be hard pressed to compete against that with initial design and manufacturing costs.
