BB headers with LS flanges?
I was wondering if anyone has tried big block long tube headers but put LS1 flanges for a LS1 swapped 3rd gen. i believe the ports are t about the same point on the head.
i know when i was building my 5.3L swapped 87 RX7 there was a bunch o fpeople using 5.0 mustang headers and putting LS1 flanges and they fit pretty good.

The way the BB headers are made I see the LsX oil pan being a problem especially by the

Re: BB headers with LS flanges?
I believe my buddy did this to an 80's el camino. 6.0 truck motor swapped in, and he reused his BBC headers for an A-body chevelle. Just cut and modified the tubes to LS flange. It fits nicely. Not a 2" primary tube tho.
I think that would work on 3rd gens but then again not sure of the clearance issues you may have.
You also could modify stock sbc longtubes but that is abit more work since the spacing isnt as close.

Re: BB headers with LS flanges?
Seems like a lot of work to me when there are already long tube headers made specifically for the third gens and LSx engines. Just my two cents

Yep, and with what those BBC swap headers cost, you might as well just buy headers meant for an LSx swap. They cost about the same. BBC swap headers are not cheap.

Who knows op may have a line on a set of used BB headers for a 3rd gen.
I remember the money shelled out for those BB hookers. 560.00 back in '91uncoated of course!

Re: BB headers with LS flanges?
Are you any good at cutting pipes and welding them up to make your own set of headers? You could make a simple set of shortys that wouldnt cost much at all and would still perform great
