Used F-body LSX oil pans?

Anybody know of a source of used oil pans? Intakes aren't TOO hard to find, because of LS1 guys swapping to LS6 intakes...LS6 guys swapping to BBK/other aftermarket intakes.

But finding a good used oil pan? Where are you LM7...LQ4/9 guys finding pans, short of shelling out $150 for a brand new one?

ls1tech or ebay are probably best shots. I scored my f body pan on craigslist for $80 in mint condition, it included the pickup too.

If that is such a good price, should I buy a bunch & resell them?

Nah...Not gonna do that to my F-body brethren!

It is made by GMPP, so I assume they kinda know what they are doing.

Re: Used F-body LSX oil pans?

it hangs down too low. f-body pan fits the best still. well there is some $$$ aftermarket ones but I dont know if they have been confirmed to fit

Re: Used F-body LSX oil pans?

i bought mine on 'tech for around $200 used, took a while of watching though. hummer pan (aka muscle car pan) hangs below the kmember; not something you really want. i believe pace performance has a kit with dipstick, pan, pickup and windage tray for $300 new

Re: Used F-body LSX oil pans?

scoggin dickey parts center sells them new for $290

otherwise the $150 one is NOT the f-body one, it's a "muscle car" pan kit and hangs too low.

Re: Used F-body LSX oil pans?

My question is, will the truck pans work to get it running? Clearance wise? I've just started looking and not finding under 200 cdn, and 350 for an aftermarket kickout one.... Car won't be on the road for a bit but I'd prefer to see her run before I take er out, cars not plated so won't be going further than down the alley anyways

Re: Used F-body LSX oil pans?

If you want to pull the motor again to swap out the pan, sure the truck pan will work.
