Getting ready.... the 6.2L is about to go in
Once again delays upon delays on my swap has pushed it back much further than I had anticipated BUT... Ive had my nephew in doing some work on it for me while I take care of other responsibilities
The young lad is getting quite skilled now too so heres a quick update on what has been done this winter. Freshened the t56 ( man it was hurtin ) I replaced all the syncro assemblies, the 5/6 driven gear ( broke teeth off pulling it out ) 5th gear, CF blocker rings and billet keys and steel 3/4 shift fork etc. Added a new QuickTime scattershield and a TexTralia Z-Grip clutch with billet flywheel. All the goodies to make it safe for 750 rwhp ( not that Im pushing out that much.... yet
)
I did a bunch of other little things as well. I lengthened the BMR LCA relocation brackets as they did not give me enough angle with the sportlines. I installed Spohn adjustable LCA's while I was at it. New Racetronix fuel system that supports 700whp... hmmm a theme....
Accessory drive done which was a bit tricky. I used MAST water pump spacers and an LS1 f-body water pump, I machined up some 3/4" spacers to space out the f-body PS pump and alt, I ran a Katech C5 Corvetter billet tensioner, and a Powerbond truck underdrive pulley. Looks mint I just hope it doesnt spit belts at 7000 RPM lol.
PatG custom grind EPS lobe VVT cam installed along with new PAC springs, COMP pushrods, iWis C5R timing chain, f-body pan, This thing is fresh and a wiring harness away from going in.
Teaser pic for now more to come soon

Awesome man. I cant wait to hear this thing run!
so... when is it fireing?!
Im running the EPS lobes too and I love them. Smooth power all over the band, no cam surge, valvetrain noise is like stock even tho its a 600ish lift cam and it sounds sick (for what it is). You'll love it.

Yeah bout time is right! I finally have cleared out a little bit of time next week ( well at least it looks like I will have time as of now but that could all change in a blink ) but when I do get time to wrench on it again you can be rest assured that it will be max effort. I really need to get this thing out of the shop its messing up a LOT of other plans too. Plus I just NEED to drive it again

Re: Getting ready.... the 6.2L is about to go in
Indeed its not the "easiest" spark plug to change out but.... Seeing as I ran my LS1 for three years on NGK coppers without even coming close to killing em ( i checked numerous times ) and I only had to check a few times instead of ALL the time like with my BBC solid cam set up which ATE valve springs and seals and PLUGS like crazy. So now this time Im running iridiums and they seem to work mint for for all the new high hp stuff so... seeing as thes plugs are good for 160K miles and they are said to be ten times better than the coppers I had such luck with?? I really dont care if I EVER need to change these...it'll be an honor

6.2L is in... and almost done
Well after cresting the big mountain of getting this thing buttoned up and in the car I ran into tragedy that completed took me off the rails. I noticed a small puddle accumulating under the bellhousing and dammit the luck my brand new slave was leaking! To say I was pissed is being quite decent and kind relative to the words thrown around the shop that day. Theres just no easy way to separate the engine/trans in the car so facing another re and re AFTER Id gone so far as to have practically everything attached back to the thing I simply dropped the tools and walked away for a month or two. Anyways back into it again now and after drilling a massive 6" hole in my floor and some creative "engine"uity we resolved the leaking hydraulic problem and I am back on track. So no new pics or anything but once again I inch dangerously close to starting this thing up. The goal is for at least one trip to the track this year. We'll see....

Shes alive.
Pretty evil sounding too I must say... Im running the exact same exhaust as my LS1 and this thing just sounds a LOT more raspy and angry in general so Im ecstatic that its finally running. There are issues with the tune and I still need to wrap the harness but to hear it purr is so damn satisfying once again back in action after a long *** time down. But this time.... Everything is fresh. Diff, trans, clutch, brakes, tires, fuel system, and most importantly the engine its ALL fresh so I hope this build keeps me going for a while
Until I add boost that is...
