Re: LSX Swap Parts Needed List?

You will have no problem using the 700R4. If you use that or an LT1 4L60E you dont need a new trans cross member. I assumed you did and bought one and found out its only for the LS 4L60's. The stock one worked nicely.

Re: LSX Swap Parts Needed List?

What you absolutely need no matter what motor you get:

Fuel system (pump kit, plumbing, injectors, fuel rail) ~600

motor mounts and stands ~175

front acc ~500

Harness/msc wiring ~350+

Exhaust ~200-1000+ depending on what you want

MSC **** that WILL nickel and dime you ~750

Do it right the first time or you will regret it. I was going to use my 700R4 when I started doing my build but I quickly realized that I would need a vacuum switch to man the torque converter lockup(because you would need a manual tune to run a 700R4). The adapter plate, correct flexplate, plus whatever it will cost you to build your 700R. Ya sure you can sell that stuff later, but non LSx stuff is depreciating rapidly in value.

Plus you will have to adapt the wiring later as well. As much as I gritted my teeth when I handed out the money for my 4L60E I don't regret it at all.
