I may be wrong about this, but as I understand it the cable vs. DBW was more year related than engine size related.

I would tend toward getting harness/PCM for the type of TB you plan on using, just to keep it simple.

I don't know details, but there were several different injector connectors used.

Re: 5.3 swap

Your best ecm option is an 0411 which is found in most LSX vehicles (trucks/cars) and i wouldnt even bother messing with the injectors from trucks or the intake, if its complete on the engine you bought, unbolt it complete, huck it on ebay and use that $ towards a complete LS1 or LS6 intake thats loaded and ready to bolt on.

Re: 5.3 swap

i had a similar injector setup issue. wiring was from a 00 silverado but the ls1 intake/injector setup i was using had different connectors. chopped off the ends (saved em just in case), soldered in a set from an LT1 caprice. Upgraded to a 6.0 w/ L92 heads and LS3 intake/injectors. Different again (shouldnt have cut off the old ones!). However, was able to find some adapters (did not want to solder again) at a very reasonable cost. only downside - they say ford on em! guess there's a trade off somewhere...
