$260 dollar 5.3

The other day when i got home from work, my brother told me he bought a 347 stroker for his rustang. I thought it was bs seeing as he's selling the car. We went over to the garage and he unwrapped a 5.3 sitting on an engine stand! Anyway, i took some pics of the motor and the internals because im not quite sure whats going on with it. The piston rings seem to show evidence that there was an slight oil leak, and im not sure if the block needs to be conditioned in anyway either.

Clean it up, give it a fresh hone, new rings and slap it back together

The piston you're holding has stuck rings. Clean, check things over carefully.

You will need new rings. Just break the glaze on the cylinder walls to prep them for the new rings. Don't try to hone out any scratches.

Re: $260 dollar 5.3

Get an engine building guide, do as much engine specific reading as you can. I've built quite a few engines, anybody can do it, just take your time, and knowledge is power. Goodluck!
