My LS1 exhaust setup
Well it feels good to have the car back on the road. I drove it back home today from the exhaust shop and I love the way it sounds. Gotta do a few maintenance things like bleed the brakes and so forth.
I wasn't able to get a video clip which I'll try and get one soon, but It does have a nice muscle sound to it
Here are some pics of the setup.
Hawks long-tubes with 3" collectors. Goes from the dual 3" into a flowmaster merge 3" into 4"

Made the 4" cutout dump out the side. After cutout it then goes into a 3" piping all the way out.

3" over the axle into a flowmaster 3"in/out and dumped at the rear.

Kinda bad pics, but shows the clearance. Its pretty tucked up which is nice, so I'm good to go.

My new license plate haha:

Re: My LS1 exhaust setup
Excellent! I have nearly the exact same setup (same y-pipe), but with a 3" QTP cutout. I don't have a whole lot of experience with various y-pipe, but I know mine has no weird rasp like I read a lot of people complaining about.
Anyway, looks great, and there will be absolutely no HP loss through that setup.

Looks good. I have the Hawks 3/4 w/ 3" collectors and similar set up as well. I have a long way to go before they get bolted and i open up the cut out though. GL

Looking forward to the sound video clip.
Where did you get the cool 5.7L LS1 license plate frame?
Is it metal or chrome covered plastic?

Thanks guys, I'll try and get a video clip this weekend.
The license plate was $15 shipped off eBay. It's a chrome plastic and looks pretty good when it's on.

Re: My LS1 exhaust setup
Just a question, but why reduce from 4" after the cutout to single 3" again? Dual 3" has the same flow area as a single 4", so wouldnt it choke up the exhaust at that point?

Very nice and clean! Love the black on black to.. reminds me of my car
for the rims.. how did you do them? They look very nice and mine are pretty faded so I might do what you did

Thanks. The paint is actually a dark midnight blue, looks good when the sun hits it. The rims are factory just had them polished out which turned out awesome, though I'm thinking of selling them to get some ZR1's.
