I sent him some money on Aug 31st for some LT1 stuff he has for sale here - https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/lsx-...-93-97-gm.html
He has not sent the parts and he is not responding to emails or PM's.

I did use paypal, but honestly I want the parts. My hope is that he is having computer issues. He mentioned that he was having issues in the last PM on September 2nd.

I've talked to him before and he seems like a strait up Goy, so I'm sure its something along those lines. I don't think hes tryin to scam you.

His profile says he works at Stampede Meat Co. in Chicago. I took a stab at his work email and sent him an email, but I am not optimistic about what that will get me. Is there anything else I can do?

I should have checked the Feedback board.
I found a post that, oddly enough he made - https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/clas...1badz28sd.html

If the private correspondence between the two of you indicates that the "gifting" was to avoid the transaction fee, but that he was still obligated to send you your request, so long as it is in writing, and can be verified that he was in fact paid through paypal, and you kept the correspondence, then legally you have him. It just depends on how far you want to take this. Some people need a good "shove" to get things moving, and once lawyers are involved, consider it done because they can come up with a whole list of things to sue him with, especially if your getting yourself sick through the ordeal. If you can prove everything mentioned, then he is legally bound, and if your getting yourself sick (nervous breakdown) because of a transaction that he is neglecting after being paid then he is done for in court. It depends on how far you want to take it...

Here is the last private message I received from him. I state in there that I gifted it to avoid the fees. He replied that he received the money and will ship it.

Re: Does anyone know how to get in touch with Carlos773...
I suppose it is official, I am getting stiffed on my $150. He has not responded to any emails, pm's or any other ways to get in touch with him. I did find his facebook page and it seems current and it even says where he works. I messaged him there and did not receive anything back. I have no idea what I can do, so I guess it's a $150 education. I will not buy from anyone unless I know their address, I talk to them on the phone and check some references. I will never understand the mind of a thief. How can they be ok with taking someone's money?

Is it really worth it to go down that path? I am not so sure - lawyers are not cheap. My guess is it will cost me a lot more money to go down that path.
I have thought about firing off an email to a few people at his company and find out what they think about it.

Re: Does anyone know how to get in touch with Carlos773...
And there in lies the dilemma. On one hand, its $150... You will spend more than that with a lawyer. A lot more.
On the other hand...its the principle. He might as well have reached into your car and stole the cash out of your center console. If he is in fact a thief/scammer...he'll do it again. And he'll know he can get away with until someone royally F's up his day. Not saying you have to be the hero to everyone else he's going to or has screwed over. Too bad more people dont have issues with him, you could pool together lawyer fees. Any results googling his screen name referencing other forums where he might have pulled this crap? Maybe visit some car forums and do an internal serach for his name.
I hate these types of people... Thieves in general really tick me off.
Good luck.

Re: Does anyone know how to get in touch with Carlos773...
There are attorneys out there that get paid only when they win in court, and believe me, they can put together a case that goes well beyond the money, as it sounds like it is effecting you psychologically, and that leads to health problems. Lawyers get paid to win, and if this guy stiffed you on your hard earned money, then I sure as hell wouldn't let him get away with it because he doesn't even have the decency to reach out to you and explain why. We all have hard times today, but to ignore someone about an item that they paid for is wrong. It is a matter of principle at this point. Look at my trader rating, if any of those guys weren't happy with their purchase for a specific reason and it was explained to me, I would reimburse them their money and they KEEP the item. That is how I do business. Although I don't expect that in return, I do however expect people to be just as professional.
