im thinking of that but i like the look of gold valve covers better i think i was going to hydro dipp the intake carbon fiber "blk/silver" i was also thinkinh a "blk/gold" carbon fiber on the intake and also the coils and using the holley valve covers .and painting the fuel rail gold also .which looks pretty badass to me atleast in my head lol idk we will see

 

dissappointed was going to make a purchase but due to some cleaning people throwing away the wrong stuff decided to throw away the keys to my cadillac so $300 plus bucks later and me walking home and back to work 3 times trying to find my key ( luckly i live walking distance from work lol ) i got a new key made at dealer lucky me i totaly forgot i had road side assistance give me a free tow that saved me some $$ Thank you Progressive lol

LOL this is crazy. I'm in the Navy too, an EM2 working solely with corpsmen at a hospital, and just did a rebuild and swap in my apartment, with no garage, bringing it all inside to clean, prep, paint etc. The similarities are crazy, though this build wasn't on my third gen. I love your work though. Keep it up

I stripped and re painted the valve covers alot more pleased with them now ..also painted ..trottle body and coils and front timing cover and water pump..

 

I live RIGHT outside Norfolk naval. Can literally see the gate from the end of my parking lot. But I don't take anything to the hobby shop either. I need that 24 hour access. Where are you PCSing to?

At nite it looks black during the day it pops with gold flake ..its black base with a dust of gold I used on valve covers

the stainless bolts tho really completes the look ..such a minor detail but it completes the look

 

So, did you use a urethane base/clear or something for high temp?

 

Vht engine paint ..Rattle Can
hand sanded intake primer filler etc
all other stuff I used self etching primer
clear coat over everthing

most important is prep.prep. prep
With bad prep even expensive paint looks like crap
Im not the best painter but I take alot of time to prep

I prob spent around 60ish bucks ..but it looks like I spent more

 

Stainless bolts I got for around 40 or 50 bucks
for coils, coil bracket , water pump, tensioner, front timing cover, valley cover, fuel inj and trottle body

 

damn how'd i miss that you have te37s on here didn't know there were any that would fit 3rd gens then again i don't know much about wheels lol dont even wanna guess what they'd cost if you hadn't traded for them

lol not rushing it even tho i want too still waiting on custom cam and other stuff// comtemplating on where to get mail order tune from CMS but im leaning towards to where im getting the cam from to also get mail order tune from him also since he would best know what to do on his cams .. this is important as i want to get to break in engine properly before dyno tune


next up is tearing down trans and upgrading it just got the stuff from Dana yesterday.. comtemplating if i should create a pic heavy thread on here on how to disassemble trans and put it back together as its the same as 700r4 .but seems like there more than enough threads on other sites an youtube ..

yea i seen on other threads detail rebuild but non on here ..hmm ill think but it lol still waitinh on Amsoil ATF and Double Caged Sprag and some othe stuff .. Holiday delayed alot of my stuff from shipping .. idk know whats worse waiting in line for DMV or waiting for Parts

been awhile since I been on here , Life issues, and changing duty stations I have put the milk bucket on the back burner for now , but im sure the end product should be worth it hopfully lol

But good news is that EPS Cam that I got spec out FINALLY shipped on the 3rd been waiting for little over 5 weeks or so , but seems forever , since its one of the main pieces holding me back from dropping in the engine

 

I Finally have the Cam in my Hands !!!!!!!!!!!!

 

are you running the stock MLS gaskets with those headers? I was wondering if I should use the gaskets they came with and cannot find many people that have them.

 

im using stock gaskets i believe there MLS i got a Head Gasket kit that included gaskets from Pace Performance there from GM High performance so i dont know

im not using the gasket that came with it

 

Finally got some time to do some stuff since relocating
been long over due got all parts besides mail order and exhuast
But left all engine gaskets at home lol so wasted a sat lol
