I would verify the pressure at the rail. A walbro 255 should be more than enough to get your combo started.

Thank you, I will do that. I will get the gauge hooked up and verify. Do you think it is possible I damaged the starter from trying to prime the engine? It did pass at the parts store, but I am not sure I trust the guy that did it lol.

I mean its possible, but if it turns the motor over i'd say its doing starter things.

You also mentioned having trouble with your hatch. Here is a crazy thread on a 1991 Z28 with a hatch release button that actually started the car. He did an auto to T5 swap and didn’t rewire hatch release pickup from the starter wire to the parking brake ground. Maybe there’s something there.

Hmmm that is very interesting indeed...definitely gives me something test/troubleshoot. Thank you for the suggestion!

That definitely explains the intermittent behavior from the starter, but maybe I have more than one problem, because after I jump the starter directly, the car should at least stay running.
