T6 frame turbo folks..where did you put yours?
So anyone with a big T6 turbo..where did you mount yours? I'm fixing to start fabbing up my turbo kit and want some ideas where to put my turbo. Is your housing divided or not? If divided, did you just say screw it and do a merge into 1 pipe? I dont think it matters much unless you are putting down big #'s..thoughts appreciated...

I cant seem to find any pics of my first setup but it was in the passenger side battery tray. I had a short rad in place that stood straight up.
Then I went overboard and did this lol.

LOL! Yea...that looks crazy. BTW.. I'm a noob at fabricating so I wont be moving my radiator. Just about done with my newbie welding class..got a MIG welder from a friend and will fab up my own stuff. I *was* going to use truck mani's but got a set of JBA shortys and cut off the ends and will weld v-bands to them when they get in. My battery is relocated already so I do have room in the front. I was just wondering how you guys were supporting the turbo.
EDIT: your turbo in the first pic ...is it just sitting there being held up by the tubing coming out the headers?

You definately want to brace a t6. Making a bar go across from frame to frame rail works with a bracket to bolt to the t6 flange.

In the first picture that was more or less mock up. The second picture you can see a brace coming out with a bolt. I welded a long nut to the top of the turbo flange and bolted it in. You need to brace them as they are 50+lbs. I think mine came in around 56lbs!
Then your only option will probably be the battery tray. You may have to get creative. there is a guy on yellowbullet and ls1tech that has a pretty sweet setup. He mounted it under the drivers side battery tray. But that would probably require a scavenge pump to get the oil back to the pan.

Where did you get the oil feed from and where is your return? If I dont have to tap the pan for a return, that would be cool. I may need to swap pans, so if I DO have to tap the pan, its no big deal. I would LIKE TO have my turbo mounted where yours is at or a little farther to the passenger side. Dont know if it will work without moving the radiator forward.

How is your car running? I read a while back you swapped engines.

I got the oil feed of the port just off the TB shown below. Just drill and tap it 1/8 NPT.
The Drain I went into the pan. On my current build I will be taping the front of the timing cover. Im running a vette ATI balancer without the AC pulley on the back so there is plenty of room. I didnt wanna drill and tap a shiney new oil pan lol
