T5 to LSX?

So I've already done a search and everything says you need a 621 bbc bellhousing to mate a t5 to an lsx and I already know these aren't the strongest transmissions in the world. I've got a buddy whos helped a friend do a 4.8/t5 swap into an 80s regal and they both say he's using a sbc bellhousing with an lsx clutch. He said the only modification he had to do was elongate some of the bellhousing or tranny bolts and some spacer for the crank I believe. His 4.8 is stock and the t5 is holding up fine. Has anyone else heard of this setup using a stock sbc bellhousing??

A sbc bell housing will bolt up to an ls, all but one bolt. Its been a while but my father n law has a built 700r4 behind his ls in a jeep and it bolted up fine with the stock sbc bell housing. He did have to use a different fly wheel and I believe that it had a spacer built in to.

Re: T5 to LSX?

Keep your eyes peeled for a used. Lakewood 15020.
It keeps everything T5 thirdgen compatible.
The 621 lacks the mounting angle of the third gen.
