I noticed you are using newspaper for the mask. Ever used newspaper before? It bleeds the paint BIG TIME! You are going to have fun (not) cleaning the bleed through paint off, at the edges.

They sell big rolls of plastic at walmart in the house paint section, if you run out of newspaper.

Re: 18 Months later and it's in primer!

Well, I've painted about 30 cars & trucks and have never had a problem using paper. Sure plastic would have been better but paper was handy.
Whats another 20 minutes to clean the windshield after this long!

As far as color, I'm torn between 2 different blues, or silver, and possibly the original red, or.........

Re: 18 Months later and it's in primer! UPDATE

Put the final coats of primer on yesterday. Even got ambitious and prepped the underside of the hood! I'll jamb it this week and paint in the next 2 weeks. Blue or Red?

Yup

Why now are you thinking white with red stripes? Oh boy its gonna be another few weeks of deciding now with 3 colors in mind. Well 3 and a 1/2 colors i should say.

LOL, No, I meant just the wheels. I've got an identical set. It'll still be red or blue. I'm actually using your's and some other pics in photoshop to come up with different color combos.
With apologies to whoever owns this car, here's my leading candidate.

Re: 18 Months later and it's in primer!

a nice torch red would look so good. the only other color that looks good on a third gen would be a radical orange. for example the GM sunset orange metallic or Honda Sunset Orange Pearl (found on the Element, its a really nice color) do not go with a bright orange or boring orange

Wow, what a surprise. Another thread hijacked by yet another project.
I love the work you've done to your car Sheldon and can't wait to see the clear on it but it would look a whole lot better in it's own thread!
Now people that just glance through threads are gonna think I went with red! PLEASE REMOVE THE PICS!!
