Just about finished with my gf's car's new look

It's officially painted. We are waiting for it to dry so we can wet sand it and then rub it out. All in all I think it turned out quite well. We have a few really minor spots that need attention, like some sweat fell off my dad's face and left a few bubble looking spots on the driver side quarter panel. All of these spots should come out when we sand the car.

The '00 tan leather WS6 seats are in as well. They look really good with the color of the car, but not so good with the rest of the interior because her stock stuff is a peanut butter color. Our next project for her car is to have the carpet dyed and the plastic interior pieces painted professionally to match the seats. I'm also going to look for some different door panels and seat belts. But for the time being, she'll have a sort of two-toned tan leather interior. Meh.

Without further rambling, here is what she looks like as of 1 hour ago.

why not just have the seats recovered rather than going thru all that trouble to change the rest of the interior? or sell the seats and find ones that match better.

anyway, it looks really nice! i like that color, whats the name again?

The seats are in near-perfect condition and I bought them for $150 from a local club member.

It's called Light Toreador Metallic.

Here's some contrast pictures:

Oh well, the concept seems easy ... how did you ventilate it though? I'm more interested in that anyways. The booth in the garage inspired me to start painting my Corvette and get it back on the road.

We use a box fan and prop the window open with the fan with the blades pushing the air outwards. Seems to work decently.

couldn't a spark from the fan ignite the paint fumes?

Not sure about that. I've never heard of anyone having that problem.

Re: Just about finished with my gf's car's new look

I think painting the interior pieces is the way to go. Just got done painting all of mine with SEM medium gray and they look great. The PITA part is cutting & gluing the new carpet to the pieces.

Car looks good!

You can have the carpet dyed to whatever color you want. You're not restricted to colors that manufacturers produce.

The color's not the problem. I ordered the pre-cut pieces and they just need to be trimmed a little to fit. Not hard, just time consuming!
