Re: New paint photos
Looks darn good!!!. I am a little confused though, one picture has a decal on the door and a spoiler and the other two dont but they have each have the same color and wheels. Which one is the current car? I like the one without spoiler and decal.

The spoiler went on at the very end of the reassembly.

Re: New paint photos
As far as the spoiler is concerned ,I believe its stock for the 1989 Camaro.I took the hole hatch/spoiler off a 1989 RS Camaro at a wrecking yard. I could be mistaken. Now you`ve got me thiking. Dose any one else have any input on this?

Re: New paint photos
That is a factory camaro spoiler, I have seen several 88-89 cars with them. Its not that common, but not that rare either. If I am not mistaken its a sport coupe thing.

also, i think my motor mounts may be worn, but does your aircleaner fit through the hole for the cowl opening? i have the goodmark hood as well, and mine doesn't fit...can't run my stubstack at the moment. upsetting...

Re: New paint photos
Info on the spoiler, it was called the 1 year spoiler, only in 88. 39,000 cars came with that (D81) spolier GM part number is 16510286. Not rare but is a good find. NICE RIDE BY THE WAY. I would keep the spoiler. Unless you find a Z high rise. Lookin good though

Re: New paint photos
it's not the tire size, but rather the wheel backspacing. to fit that size tire under the car you'd need a 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing, it looks like you've only got about 3.5" backspacing so it's sticking out too far. even a 265 would stick out.
good looking car otherwise. i'd really like to see you take the spoiler back off, it looked clean like that.

Re: New paint photos
thats a nice car... i like the rear wheel spacing too. you should have smoothed out where the camaro emblem is on the nose with body filler if you werent going to put it back on tho.

Badgings here ,all that's left is the driving lights and new tail lights.

lookin' good! word of caution on those hijacker airshocks: the top mount for the rear shocks is just a very thin piece of sheet metal. it is NOT designed to hold the weight of the car there. i've seen guys with air shocks have the shock punch through the floor when jacked up because of the area around the top shock mount getting made weak from the lack of extra bracing of sorts.
on top of that, they're dated and there are so many better shocks out there that will make your car handle like a million bucks.

Its a custom paint mix. Started with a Rally red and added some black and ppg red pearl. Just kind of kept adding black until we got the shade I was looking for. Closest match Ive seen is a candy apple red or milano red.
