First Car; 92 Camaro RS Project
Let me introduce myself, my name is Fabio, 16 and this is my first car! Also I live in San Antonio, Texas. The reason I went with this Camaro is because to me it looks amazing, well for a first car it does. Well I paid $1500 for it and the guy I bought it from said it was a 350 V8, with a Comp Cam, Holley intake, Headers & Exhaust, also a Hurst shifter. But for all I know he could be bs'n about the cam.
Day 1 Bringing the car home;

^New Tans
It's a 1992 Camaro RS 25th ann. it has a 350 swapped in, and a brand new transmission (auto). So as you can see for $1500 it's not bad. Personally I'm in love with it. I've had the car for two days now, and so far the engine seems to be running fine. But I need to find a way to turn the electric fan on without having to get out of the car and attach a wire to the battery, and there seems to be a leak in the radiator. And the insides are pretty much like a pigs pen, I cleaned most of it out but the seats and carpets are gonners, but I'm thinking about picking up some 4th gen seats from a junk yard and dropping those in. And the paint's clear coat is peeling but that's the last on my list to worry about, and the previous owner used bondo on the drivers side to cover some rust i think??? I think it's a great first car though! Your thoughts, any advice on how to hook up the fan and just any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Good score! Much better than my first car. If she runs good then the cosmetics are just a minor nuisance. The engine looks nice! Have fun!

Thanks, yeah it's a good car for the money.
And here's a video of somethings wrong on it and just a walk around; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur8Rs7P57X8
Haha and sorry about putting the camera down I had to check the mail
The whining noise just started today, any ideas what it could be? I have no mechanics under my belt, so any help would be great! And just any help or advice with anything would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Get an electric fan controller for the fan, they will turn the fan on when it reaches a certain temperature, and when it cools to the desired temperature, it will turn the fan off. I use this one in my Trans Am and it works great:

That sound, to me, sounds like it could be the idler pulleys' bearing going out. Thats also an interesting way to route the belt, I've never seen one ran that way, lol.

Re: First Car; 92 Camaro RS Project
Yeah, so far people are telling me to either wire a on/off switch inside to turn the fan on when i get in, or wire it to a relay so when I turn the engine on the fan turns on. I'll look into it later this week. And I'm looking into the whining noise, my belts are pretty loose so I'm going to start there. As for the radiator leak what do you think I should do? It's draining at a fast rate, I'll post a video to show y'all tomorrow. But do y'all think I should try to patch the leak, or just get one from a junk yard?
It's a great car, and now I know why people love F-bodies! I will definitely be taking good car of my Maro

I would just buy a new one i mean they aren't all the expensive i just bought one new it was around 100 bucks and i would buy the fan controller honestly i tried the relay deal if you do it set each fan to a different relay as it was originally or you will burn relays also

Get a fan controller and be done with it. Wiring it to the ignition or a toggle switch is a temporary fix to a permanent problem. Switches get real annoying to use after a while, and wiring it to the ignition has plenty of downfalls as well.
Oh, and these are not "Fox bodies", they are F-body's. Fox bodies are mustangs..
Good luck with the project!

im guessing your serpentine belt is a temporary one from the previous owner. i have never seen it routed as it is. i thnk if you put in the a/c delete pulley and the proper belt, that will eliminate part of the problem.

Looks like a project car with the wires hanging everywhere and small paint blemishes and damage in the interior... but that engine looks like it has a good bit of potential. Looks like it's a well done build in progress. I'd be proud of it.

Well today I started the engine and the whinning noise is gone, so that's a start. And also I looked into the A/C delete pulley you were talking about and went to look were it went on the engine, and saw this;

So I'm guessing the PO decided he would just cut the A/C out and the the A.I.R. / Smog out. So I don't think I'd be able to hook up the A/C pulley with that cut off, or could I replace that part? And how do y'all think I should have the belts?

Re: First Car; 92 Camaro RS Project
I have a quick question, would the dash-pad of a 89 Iroc Z28 just bolt right into my car? I'm thinking yes because they're the same gen, right? Because I have a donor car that I'm getting most of my interior from.

The dash pad should fit just fine.
Is your lower radiator hose missing the hose clamp?

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I have a new toy... Two Kicker L7 15" that my brother passed down to me after he wrecked his car. Right now there sitting in my back seat until I can make a custom box in the hatch or for the back seats. Yeah, I know it porbably ruined this car but I couldn't turn these babies down

Very nice find, most parts from the third Gens are interchangeable, but some interior pieces aren't the same. I like those tips also! And I have them!
