Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Hey I've got a 92 RS in the factory purple haze/hawaiian orchid paint job. It has a factory L98 with the B4C package and 700R4. The story of the car actually started in 92 when it was purchased by my grandpa for my grandma. He bought it for $18k, we still have the window sticker. This was her daily driver all the way up to 2007 when she passed away. Even though she didn't take the best care of it (damaged front gfx, small dings here and there, scratches on the hood and roof) she loved it. The car was always kept running in top shape, being that's all that mattered to her, get from A to B without breaking down.
In 2010 I took interest in the car since it was just sitting in the garage collecting dust not being driven at all (my grandpa actually hated this car, not good for bad backs lol). So I took the car and started working on it, it need a few things here and there, basic tune up parts. Once I finally got it working nicely I took it to get smog and it passed with flying colors, but I realized soon after the smog that the transmission was starting to go. So after driving on the slipping tranny for a couple of months it finally went, had it towed to a shop and got it rebuilt.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago, I bought a few things for the car to personalize it a bit (magnaflow cat-back, k&n air filters). It's still not in the best shape on the exterior, but the car is running more sound than ever I believe. This past weekend I took a small piece of 3M Di-Noc carbon fibre vinyl and covered a portion of the front gfx that sits under the grill, to me it looks 5 million times better in the front just from that one single piece I laid down.
And now, onto some pictures:

Yeah the local police dept. ordered a dozen of these camaros and only used I believe 8 of them. The rest of the cars went to the dealer where my grandparents bought it. They were all RS's with the B4C package which I guess was the L98/700R4 with the 1LE brakes and suspension. Bought it for $18k.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Found this on Wikipedia
1992
1992 was the final year of the third generation Camaro. A "25th Anniversary Heritage Edition" option had been planned with Corvette aluminum cylinder heads, tubular exhaust headers, and 6-speed manual transmission, but this was scrapped in favor of a "Heritage Package" option (RPO Z03) which amounted to nothing more than a graphics package of badges and rally stripes. All 1992 Camaros received a "25th Anniversary" badge on the dashboard. The 1992 version of the Camaro B4C (Special Service Package) got the addition of 1LE brakes and suspension, making it perhaps the best performing third generation Camaro available with air conditioning. A total of 589 B4Cs were sold. The B4C option was also deemed popular enough to be carried on to the fourth generation model.
1992 Z28s received some of the "leftovers" from its Corvette cousin, which switched from Tuned Port Injection to the updated LT1 engine series in 1992. Some Z28s received the cast aluminum style intake runners from the TPI Corvette instead of the regular Camaro smooth tube ones.
The RPO 1LE option combination, identical to the previous year in specification and option requirements, had its highest production year of the third generation Camaro, with 705 cars so equipped. As mentioned, the 1LE brakes were included with B4C in 1992, accounting for 589 of the 705 built. This means that only 116 "true" 1LE-only cars (A/C delete, non-Special Service Package) were built for the year.
It should be noted that the vast majority of the 1LE cars built during the 1989-1992 period were very sparsely equipped vehicles. Since they were intended for racing, where extra weight is a disadvantage and interiors are often gutted after purchase, most were very lightly optioned. The majority of 1LE Camaros had the base interior, with no power options, cruise control, or even floor mats. Some were even built without radios (201 cars were built as "radio delete" in 1992). An "oddball" Camaro equipped with a combination of both RPO 1LE and luxury or appearance options, such as a deluxe leather interior or the Z03 Heritage Package, is therefore a rare and potentially collectible vehicle.
This was also the last year of production at the Camaro's assembly plant in Van Nuys, California. The last third-generation Camaro produced was a red Z28 coupe on August 27, 1992 that features signatures of the assembly line workers and is privately owned.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
The 92 is my daily driver which has the 3.1L V6. I made the down-payment on that with insurance money when my previous ride (a 1983 Cutlass Supreme) was stolen from the parking lot of the apartment complex I was living in at the time. I bought it in 1997 and have kept it mostly stock as far as the power train goes. I have had the upholstery redone, installed a Dakota Digital instrument panel, and gone through a few stereo setups over the 14 years I've owned it.
And some creature comforts....
Upholstery done at a small shop not 3 miles from my house.
No, I wasn't driving when I took this shot. On the rollers of a dyno, put out about 120HP which is about right for a stock V6.
Panasonic touch screen head unit, also controls a Sirius Satellite receiver. Screen is blank when off.
Memphis Big Belle 5 channel amp (1400 Watts RMS total, 1100 goes to the sub), Memphis 12" MOJO capable of 1000 Watts RMS, 2000 peak.

Seats were done locally at a small one-man operation where he works out of a garage by his house. The gauges are Dakota Digital, I had them set the odometer to 177,000 to match what I took out, and now have 257,000, so about 7 or 8 years for them.

Be prepared for sticker shock with the Dakota Digital, they've gone up since I bought mine (expensive then). I'm not sure they'll do red for you though because it's hard to see in bright light, that's why mine are the color they are, and they're still hard to see in bright light.
This is the set I have, you'll need to send your current gauge panel in to have them retro theirs into it and takes 90 days.
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd214.htm
Dakota Digital stock the 82-89 style, and it costs a little more than half of the 90-92 style.
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd168.htm
Here's another option that should be available soon, if not already and costs quite a bit less. They may do red for you, but don't quote me on that.

There's a thread on them here...

I had a local one man shop do them for me. He operates a shop out of a garage around the corner from his house, about 3 miles from my house, so really convenient. I had the seats and door panels done first, and I let him use his imagination on the doors. The headliner, sail panels and visors were done later to match the seats. I think I have about $1300 into the upholstery.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
bought this past spring. came with 355 swapped with stock 305 tbi injectors(d'oh) and a tranny that wouldnt go into OD after i got home with itl(**** lucas transmission slipfix **** >) , silicone around the axle seals cause they were leaking bad wheel cylinders & they had apparently stripped out bolts in the axle assembly to change out the seals before they siliconed em.found that out trying to change the rear brakes just the other day.glad they went out actually otherwise i might have found out the hard way there was no gear oil in there.some positive things were no rust anywhere had been garage kept its whole life, subframe connectors ,3.73 gears ,struttower brace alarm system .
now has a rebuilt 700r4 with shift kit b & m megashifter. waiting for an "ultimatemodded" throttle body to get here so i can put my new bigger injectors in it,new stock ecm for an 89 caprice w/350 tbi to manage this a little better till i figure out the cam and do some tuning.new dashtop i got through hawks (well worth the 400 or 500 i paid for it.how many perfect dashtops u ever seen in these cars? :P)
story: i had an 86 rs when i was 19-20 (27 now) that i bought as a rolling chassis and pieced it together and never could get the wiring figured out right.pulled motor and tranny and scrapped most of it swearing i would own a running one sometime in my life.(kept the crossfire injection hood i had bought at a junkyard for it.it was a steal at 50 bux ) ended up moving out of my hometown to be closer to where i work.
fast forward to spring of this year. was driving to my hometown to hang out with some friends and i saw this car sitting on the highway for sale. i looked at my gf and said damn that car looks good. drove home and stared at the car as i passed it .next couple of days i was helping a friend move and kept driving by and seeing it.finally stopped and asked about it. drove real well on that test drive (again **** lucas slip fix tranny fluid) he was wanting 5500 and i got em down to 4500 thinking i was doing again (one more time **** lucas oil) .started driving it to work and noticed it never would go into OD. one day i stopped at walmart on way home and threw stuff in the back seat.went to unload car and a bottle of lucas stop slip rolled out from under the passenger seat. next day tranny lost 3rd gear. bought a rebuilt with shift kit swapped in put megashifter in yada yada.
to do list: install bowtie grille and foglights, install foglight switch bezel, get a new tach that reads right, get nose repainted where a tree limb fell on it 2nd day i had it and chipped a section of paint off ( could have been so much worse. this was a huge limb) new throttle body ,new injectors, stock caprice ecm ,figure out cam,buy an osterich and get to tuning.

The tail lights do look cool. I don't think it's for me but it looks good on most Camaros.

Only when the windows and top are up. (i.e. not that often) a lot of those are from the tranny swap as it was the only ashtray around at my nonsmoking buddy's house and my gf smokes like a freighttrain and i ve just been too lazy to empty the ashtray.

Well let's see. In 2005 while I was in 12th grade, I traded a conversion van for a 1984 firebird s/e. It had been sitting for ten years, maybe more. Finally got it running and it was a rusty pile but I loved it. Ended up wrecking it. After that I really wanted a black iroc. After I graduated in 2006 I found a sweet deal on a 88 iroc. It needed a tranny and some odds and ends but that car ended up looking awesome. But I needed more speed. So I sold it to a buddy and bought a 1994 z28 six speed. Had that car for almost 4 years. After dumping alot of money and blowing rears I sold it, and bought a truck and a quad. Recently went to a car show, realized how much I missed the muscle car scene, came back, made some calls, bought a roller, and a motor, and some goodies. We'll see how this goes.
The firebird
The two camaros
The truck
The project

Oh the roller. It's a 91 rs. Came with a t5, and not much else. Got a 350 for it, some
Long tubes, custom x member a friend made, true duals, 125 shot, I put a grant steering wheel in it, lower control arms, adjustable panhard bar, I'm sure there's more im forgetting. It will be getting a custom cage, and it'll probably be rolling around in primer for a while.

Re: RS Camaro owners, post a pic, your story, and some info about your car.
Picked up my camaro 5 years ago.
Started picking around and found rust, rust, rust....
Still need to cleen up some wiring
Picked up from paint
Couple years ago. ALOT of changes has happened since then
Now it's disassembled again, brand new black interior going in (been collecting NOS parts for 4 years) also converting from TH700 automatic to T56 manual and C6 Z06 brakes and hydroboost.

That'll look sweet. But I would get a better hood before painting it IMO. it's gonna be a pain to get a new hood AFTER painting. Scoops and Cowl induction hoods have performance value as well

Wow, just realized the engine in that Norsemans Camaro is huge. Look at the size of the heads and that air cleaner!
