i just have to post this
so i have a friend who goes to NASCAR technical institute, and lately hes talking about getting a thirdgen and making it into some crazy custom cadillac creation from his imagination, hes got it all planned big 572 caddy engine, gonna make it look like a 67 eldorado, modern efi system, and nice new cts leather interior, and hes gonna do all this custom work to this thirdgen camaro, please post about how hard that'd be help me talk some sense into him, he just doesn't believe him when i tell him its gonna be a hell of a lot harder then he thinks it is.

First off.... Ewww
Secondly, why??!
I see no way possible that this can turn out looking respectable.

i thought this too, but then i thought a 67 eldo is fwd and maybe he wants to work on a rwd platform and itd be near impossible to make that eldo rwd. then again, a 67 eldo is one sexy car, id rather start with that if money allowed

Re: i just have to post this
The only thing that ever looked good that was made out of a 3rd gen Camaro... Was the third gen Camaro!!!!

Any of those kits cars, 4wds, pick-up camaros, etc looked like garbage!!!
I honestly feel starting with a uni-body chassis would be a mistake anyway. I would buy a G-body and use that full frame design for such a heavy old car replica/custom. If he really needed you can get TPI drivetrain for super cheap on CL.

Re: i just have to post this
The interior just plain wouldn't work unless the doors were a close shape to the cts ones. not to mention the work to fab up a new body entirely just to make it look okay
with an el dorado frontend.
Ps i dont even know or care to know what this "el dorado frontend" looks like or the year or anything... its gotta be ugly.
