My 91 z build thread
I recently purchased this car with the intent of painting it and driving the wheels off of it. But after driving it a little, I've decided to go through the whole thing first, then do the bodywork and paint later. The specs on the car are as follows.
*originally had the lb9, now has a 72 350
*g80 gu4 limited slip 3:08 rear end
*wct5
*216xxx miles
The previous owner had transplanted a 72 350 engine into the car and used parts off of a 85 to make it work, like fan, shroud, dist, carb, and air filter. My plan is to yank the dirty 350, clean it up, put a mild cam in it, hei dist., use a holley street dominator intake, and 600cfm holley carb. I have already purchased a new clutch, new holley carb, a bunch of new gaskets, and a couple new engine mounts and trans mount. I still have to order the cam, headers, intake and dist. Im planning on buying the lunati 268/276 .489/.584 hyd cam, pacesetter headers and y pipe and a basic gm hei dist.
Here are some pics of the car as i recived it.

Pretty ugly are'nt they,
. I dont know what year/int. option car they came from, but they dont match the rears and feel pretty worn out. Hopefully the local yard has a set of 4th gen buckets for me.

Love the "Where's the Yager?" pics? I don't get much done in the home garage without a buddy light
The car is straight and looks like it will clean up well. You might keep your eye out in the for sale section for the correct front seat backs. Might be easier and cheaper than a full 4th gen swap.

Re: My 91 z build thread
I apreciate the postive comments.
But, its a sad day for me in the f body world
After further inspection, the camaro is deemed to rusty for me to continue with this chassis. The floor is completly seperated from the the rest of the body, and the entire rear body is rotted out. My first clue was if i parked the car on any uneven ground the doors would not open. So it will get parted out to my buddy "82z28 wrencher" so he can use the suspension and body parts to fix his current car.
But i found a new chassis to replace this one. Its an 86 trans am, 86ta355sr's old car to be exact. Here are some pictures of the car. I will be making the 410 mile trip tomorrow to pick it up.

I will be continuing my build in the the firebird section of the forum.
