Back in a Thirdgen.

Okay so a little background on my vehicles over the years. way back when I joined this forum I had just bought my first Camaro. It was an 89 RS with a 305 700r4, and miraculously it had a posi rear end. I loved that car, it had 13k original miles, the only thing it asked of me was an alternator and tires. That is until one day while sitting waiting to turn onto my street, an F150 slammed into at full speed no brakes. Needless to say it totaled the car and insurance only gave a 2500 to replace it. They were crazy it was an all original car.

Fast forward a year or so and I bought two more thirdgens, a 84 z28 and a 92 rs. The z28 had the motor I wanted and a perfect dash and the 92 had the straight body. Well after I started tearing into the cars I realized both were way too far gone. While the 92 had a great straight body, it was rotted out on the inside with frame damage. and the z28 had been molested way too much. So I sold the cars as they were and pretty much gave up on finding a good thirdgen in my area.

So now its been nearly 6 or so years and I decided screw it I miss my old car I want another one. I spent over six months looking and I finally found an all original 91 z28 with the 5.7 auto with a 3.23 posi rear end. They ad was for 2500 bucks and if it was what he claimed it was well worth it. I started emailing the guy and then I told him I would like to own the car but I only have 1500. He said if I liked the car that much he would take it. So i drove down there that weekend to look at the car.

When I got there they paint was all original (faded and chipped, etc.). It had the original rims, interior, motor tranny, everything. I couldnt believe my eyes, it was unmolested and just looking to be put back on the road.I test drove it in the parking lot and was hooked, everythgin on the dash worked except the tach. I paid the man, and then the car stopped (Lol isnt that always the case) anyways got it home and in a couple days she is back to running strong and healthy like they day she left the factory. The only problem with it (besides the worn out 24 year old suspension) is the battery tray is rusted away. But other then that the original factory ac works etc.

So I think I found a hell of a deal and cant stop smiling when im in the car. Sorry for the long post, it has just been many years since I had this feeling again. I will post pictures below as well I hope you enjoy.

Nice car, what are you plans for the car for the future? Just drive it like it is or you going to get crazy with it.

For now im driving it as it is, but eventually I will be putting a full BMR suspension system to go along with the twin turbo'd 396 stroker.
