4mul8r's car look-a-like contest

I'm looking for a car that looks like mine for a creative video/photo shoot.

I don't know what the prize is going to be yet...But post up if your car looks like mine below. I will go ahead and make two different categories...so two prizes of some sort potentially will be given.

1st category : body/interior (match with hood closed) - It'll be hard for you to win if you aren't red and/or don't have ttops. If you have a match on the outside, but the interior is a different color, I might consider it, so post up. When I'm judging, I'll take into consideration the differences between the cars that could easily be changed in less than an hour (wheels, hood, hatch, etc..)

2nd category : engine bay - If you don't have a v8 tpi motor then you won't win. However I don't care what size your actual motor is. (the big things I'm looking for here are the valve covers, shorty edelbrock tes headers, and the missing AC lines.) Closest match to everything wins.

If you have a match in both, then you can possibly take both prizes.

Honestly, don't expect much at for the prize, but the closer a match I can find, the more willing I'd be to give something of actual substance.

Other requirements :

-The car must still look like the pic you submit
-The car must be drivable
-You must own the car or still be in contact with the person who does
-You must live in the lower 48 states
-Distance from Dayton, OH may be a factor if it comes down to it
-If you have a match but can't post a pic for whatever reason, pm me
-Contest runs for 1 week

*********************************************************
A SAMPLE SUBMISSION
*********************************************************

I found this car on cardomain. I have graded it below so that you have an idea of how I'm going to look at these.

The Good : It's a close shade of red, with a similar exaust, black body moldings, chrome door trim, tinted windows, silver bird in tail lights, and fender vents with the correct styled body and ground effects.

The neutral : The hatch with attached spoiler, wheels, and hood don't match but could easily be swapped out. The door handles do not match and might take more than an hour to change.

The bad : The car is not a t-top. The pinstripe and lower body stripe do not match. There is no photo of the inside of the car.

Thanks, i love it. Yours is very nice too. If this car didn't have sentimential value (father bought it new) I prefer T/A, second, third and fourth gens. First gen is Camaro all the way.

I would have to agree with you. And it appears that we will have no choice for the 5th gen.

But anyways, when the project begins I'll drop you a line with some more information and maybe you can drop by in that Camaro.

Cool, I live about 2 hours from dayton but only work about 25 minutes from there so let me know, I am always up for a cruise.

Mine is really close, but a few years newer. I do have black door panels now but I didn't when the interior pic was taken.

I'll give you a prize if you take off that stupid chrome on the doors. Actually you'd be giving yourself a prize by doing that, cause other than that the car is beautiful.

BUT there is a word called "tact". Look it up.

Try this.. hey your car is really nice but what is up with the chrome door handles and chrome door strip. Would look alot better IMO without it. Other then that, the car is beautiful...

I have TPI (87 GTA) but my car is white, not red. Not that PS'ing to red would be a real big deal, but.....

And I have Paypal.

I don't mind. I was never too sure about the chrome on the doors myself, but it matched some other chrome on the car, (handles, steering wheel, pedals, valve covers, pulleys, oil pan, exhaust tips) without completely overdoing it (I've seen much much much worse in the lines of chrome accessories). The exhaust tips, oil pan, and valve covers are already gone. The chrome handles and door trim have now started to pit, so they will probably go as well. There is a really good chance the pedals will be going. I'm still on the fence about my steering wheel though. Basically my car is going through a bunch of changes. I was willing to give a prize to someone who had a car that looked very close to what mine used to look like (above). I can't go into much more detail about it then this, but I need some "before" video and photos.

You're not the only one who thought this was for a car show and I don't know why people were thinking this. Maybe I wasn't being clear or specific enough. I was simply giving out a prize for the person who's car matched mine the closest. I honestly thought I'd get more than one red trans am to respond. I was hoping to have a good pool to select from in which the winner (or very close runner up) would meet with me to do the photos and video, getting paid an additional amount on top of the prize.

If you want to give me your mailing address, I can mail you the winnings. PM me. Also, read my response to the quote directly above. Your car isn't quite ideal for this as it would most likely take over an hour to "prep" it for the shoot. It would involve the temporary swap of your hood, hatch, tail lights, seats, maybe steering wheel, and ground effects....but if it's something that you think you might be interested in, let me know. There would be something additional in it for you.

While photoshopping it wouldn't be a big deal, changing an object's color in moving video is much more time intensive. Ideally I'm looking for a tpi engine in a red car with a black engine bay. If your tpi engine looks almost identical to mine (as pictured above) though, there might be a few other tricks we could pull...but I'd only want to do those if yours really did look almost identical.

And I have Paypal.

Exactly....but if anyone thinks they can beat the winner or have a chance at the tpi category, post up. I'm still looking. But read the rules carefully to know what I'm looking for and also read through this entire reply to see what my plans are. The closer you are to a good match and willingness to meet to make this happen, the more likely I'll be to award an additional prize and/or compensation even though the contest has actually ended.

Mine engine is bone stock on the outside, save for the throttle body cover & a WS6 decal I made on m y intake tubing.

I never responded before because I thought you wanted a face to face meet. Then you mention pics...Now you talk just pics again.

If you wanna see what I have as far as pics already.....
