Nice! What are your plans with it?
BTW I'm sure you noticed the front and rear wheels are mounted in the wrong configuration.

Re: My 1987 Trans Am Gta
No didn't notice it has 225 series tires on there which I kno are wrong. Car looks much worse in person needs new paint no rust or damage. Runs rough has a code 44 didn't run when I got it put a fuel pump on it to get it running. I think it sat for awhile. Center console and most trim pieces are broke. Needs new brakes and steering components. My plans are to restore the interior and exterior to its original glory. And would like to maybe swap on a l31 with tpi. Somebody replaced the stock motor with a early flat tappet motor with a melling mtc1 cam I think that is why it surges at idle

Beautiful car! December 20th must have been the day to buy yourself a third gen. For me it was a birthday/Christmas present. Mine isn't a GTA but it's pretty rare all the same. 1992 Jamaica Yellow Trans Am. Good luck with your new car.

Man, what a good eye! I had to look at one of the pics again and sure enough, front and rear wheels are swapped. Actually the rims are marked on the inside as to where they go.
A very nice GTA, by the way.
Congratulations!

Re: My 1987 Trans Am Gta
I'v always found it a little odd that GM was not able to build this cars keeping the same Offset for the front and rear wheels. I once thought of using the front wheels on all 4 corners, but when I tried them on the rear they were sticking out a little too much, making it look goofy.

I believe that's the first time I've ever seen "headless" seats. LOL Nice car and best wishes on the restoration. Was this a Northern Virginia car??

Possibly, but the thing that gave it away for me, being a native of Northern Virginia, was the inspection sticker. They are big sticklers about that in that area, and would pop you as quick as they could if it expired, believe me.

Yes the wheels are mounted "wrong" but I think we all can agree that it looks better when they are swapped. I did the same thing years ago & used some iron drum slip-on factory spacers I had laying around so that the rear wheels would fit on the front & clear the calipers.
Not the best pic but clearest I could find to show the wheel depths.

The camaro with the yellow crosslace wheels on the picture you attached, appears to have them in the "correct" configuration, but I am shure you could have found a better picture of a GTA, for exemple

4 fronts look nice on these models. The drum spacer is only around 3.5 mm thick and the rear wheels on the front still look funny, even with the spacer.

Re: My 1987 Trans Am Gta
It was my late wife's car & now our daughter has it. And the pic above is with the 12 year old paint job. It has been very well cared for & the purple/yellow combination was my late wife's decision. I think it is an awesome car, even though it still needs more power. But in the hands of the kids, the power level it has is perfect for them.

Went junkyard hunting found both headrest, sail panel covers, and sun visors.
