Just want to know how many Trans Am or Firebird you guys have owned.
I will start I owned 3 of those beautiful cars.

First my 87 Trans Am 5.0 with a digital dash


my second was a 2001 WS6 (modified to 420hp)

and the one I always wanted to own....my current 84 TA 82style

 

I have owned 3 Birds. 1985 Trans Am, 1988 GTA and 1989 GTA(currently owned and now a part of my private collection)

 

I have owned 2. A 1985 Trans am, base with the WS6 package, and a 1986 Trans am almost fully loaded.

92GTA, what made you sell the Firehawk?

I myself have owned 4 Firebirds/Trans Ams:
86 Firebird - 350 motor swap (first car)
91 Firebird - 305 TBI bone stock, totalled
91 Firebird - 305 TBI but swapped to a 350 TBI after spinning a bearing. Sold it before I completed the swap
91 GTA (first Trans Am & current toy) - Fully loaded L98 car, bone stock

 

Only paid $25K and while I owned it had it listed on consignment thru a collector car reseller for $49K. I'll be dammed if after a year or so a buyer showed up with the green. Since I still owed money on her and had a 2nd baby on the way plus wasn't making much in my early 20s at the time, yeah, thus makes history. That seller sold it for $60K, then that seller flipped it to a collector in Europe for $80 or $85K. This was years ago too.

Mine too unfortunately the guy I bought it from ended up with an inheritance and desperately wanted it back - otherwise it would still be here.

But you're one to talk - I wanted your Firehawk BAD when it was for sale years ago, but paid less for the TA.
I still want one of the competition models.....some day.....some day!

- 1987 gta roller The clean project car; sold for not being a five speed
- 1991 firebird v6 extremely rusty parts car
-1991 firebird roller/hacked "race" car. Scrapped

Thank you Bob. I just "put it away" for winter less then a month ago, and I already miss having it to take here and there whenever I want. I'm ready for spring already!

 

It's hit or miss down here this time of year so I get lucky! A lot of nice warm days in the winter months. Yes, ready for spring ALREADY!

My first was a 1970 Formula bought as a roller;





After a 455 HO TH400 transplant and bunches of $$$$





My second was a 1975 Esprit which I bought as a daily while building the '70.

My now GTA roller that's get'n the treatment;




I've also owned a couple 2nd gen Camaro's 75 LT-1 & 79 Z28 back in the day......

 

My first, and still have it, 89 Formula 350 Tpi auto (13.23 in the quarter mile with 3.23 gears and 10" slicks).
Another 89 Formula bought as a roller, was a 305 Tpi, 5 spd, put a 350 tpi in it,
A 87 Firebird, 305 Tbi, auto,
A 88 Camaro 305 Tbi, auto,
A 88 Formula 305 Tpi, 5 spd,
A 89 Turbo TA.
And my son is on his third!
He is currently driving a 91 Firebird convertible with 305 Tbi, auto (White with black top and grey cloth interior).

First one was a 1990 Trans Am L98 4 wheel disc, (regret and really miss that car.) Notice it had no map pocket, never saw another high option T/A before without one. 2nd one is the one i currently own 1991 Trans Am L98 rear drum car. 1st pic is when i first got it, 2nd pic is more recent. Needs new spoiler.

3 third gens. I first got a hand me down 87 firebird with the 2.8 V6. I then picked up a 86 TA with a 305TPI but never drove it and sold it to my dad shortly after fixing the brakes and such (motor needed a rebuild). Then I found a 1987 formula 350 a block away and thats my current street/strip car. This one has ALOT of money into it and the only one of its kind in the world I think. I stuffed a 521 BBF in it, 2004R trans and ford 8.8. Currently its being pulled apart for some trans debugging and little fixes. But just swapped in a moly race craft Kmember and its getting TA GFX and new paint. This is how it looks now awaiting all the new gfx and paint mods etc.

 

My 86 TA new from factory in 85 (one of the first 86's in town) and I ordered it the way Dad would allow (no TPI)


and my 88 GTA I got about 5 years ago

 

That 88GTA has got to be one of the nicest!

I currently own #6 and #7 and they're not going anywhere. All the others were sold.

 

I spoke to a buddy of mine today who's been collecting muscle cars for 40+ years even has a few he bought new. He said at one time he owned 20 1969 Trans Am's including one of the 8 convertibles and one RA IV/4spd - he still has 9 of them.

At the same time he had 7 - 70 TA's, 5 71's and 7-72's. He's thinning the heard so if anyone's interested, send me a PM & I'll get you his number.

The first picture is one of his storage buildings - the blue car to the right is one of the 17-1971 Judge Covertibles - a 4spd.

The second picture is the field out behind his house - the 69 Pace car and both of the Hurst Olds cars have been sold.

The last picture is the driveway/garage at his parents house in the 80's - his Father finally said you have to move or we will!

 

WOW. Now multiply those cars X 25 and that's how many I want to have someday Look out Jay Leno!
