last time this year... Cecil County anyone?
well, im going back down to Cecil again to try to break into the 12s with my newest mods. itll be Fri the 15th. ive got a few C4s going, a thirdgen or 2, a 70 Stang, and a few force-fed imports. anyone from here interested in going? id like either some competition for the Vette, or some help putting the rice crowd in its place (they all think theyre in the 12s
). let me know

I think I will be able to go, because I almost always have Fridays off. I won't know for sure until this weekend, unfortunately.
On top of that, I'd just be an embarrassment - I'm a low 16
My headers come in this week (Dynomax shorties), so hopefully I'll have the $$ to get them put on. I have a Dynomax cat, Borla piping and muffler, so I'm hoping this will get me into the 15s.
I have a 305 QJ, with a 700R4. You think I have a shot? (My best RT is .67)

i dont have a scanner or a digital camera, not to mention i have no idea how to post pics, so i cant do that. i will say i drive a white 89' C4 Vette. ill have the hood popped and lots of ice on the intake. i may or may not bring down my newest car, a black LT1 Firebird Formula. so look for those 2 cars. there may be a white 84' Z28 near me as well (my brother will be driving my old Camaro), but he wont be down there til about 7. hope to see you there, maybe we can line up!

sounds good. i'm leaving dover at 4:30, which will put us in the staging lanes at about 6:30 (stopping for dinner somewhere on the way). The lanes are still open till 10:30 arent they? i haven't been there since February. Hows the crowd there been lately? Last time i went i was there for 3 hours and made one run. Way too many people there... Oh and I'm sure we could work it out so we get next to each other

Zupman- yes, staging lanes are still open til 10:30 or so. ive gone the past few Fridays in a row, and you can usually get about 1 run in per hour after 7. it starts getting packed around then.
Afterburn- nice color on that Camaro! dark green is one of my favorite shades on 3rd gens. im not sure about directions from where you live, but i take I95 and get off at the Rising Sun exit. after you get off 95, you should see a redish gas station were youll make a left turn at the light. go down this road until you see a street sign for "theodore road" (i think its your 2nd left) and turn down it. continue down til you see the huge clouds of tire smoke coming from the left side of the road. thats Cecil. you cant miss it

Thanks - I had mapquested it, but I just wanted a confirmation. It looks like it'll be an hour drive, maybe fifteen more minutes if traffic is bad.

I couldn't find ANY of you there!! I found a late model white C4 vette with ice on the intake, but when I pulled up and asked the guy leaning on the driver's side door if he was from third gen, he said no. I drove by it a few times later that night...
If that was you, I saw you run a 13.34 if I remember correctly. Nice run!

i was there. there were a few other C4s in attendance that night, but im pretty sure i was the only white one. you must have talked to the guy who owned the red LS1 Z28 that was in front of me, i was hanging out with him that night. i dont know why i didnt see you, maybe i was at the porto potties when you drove by. the LS1 guy was watching my car anytime i left it (to go to the snack bar and stuff). i saw Zupman up there as well, but he didnt have his car, he was having trouble with it so he was running a Jeep Cherokee.
i did notice a black Z with what looked like Borla exhaust drive by, but for some reason i thought your car was a 91/92 model, so i didnt flag it down. maybe that was you?
anyway, ill be down there again the next 2 Fridays (the last 2 fridays his season) for some more runs as i need to test my TPIS cold air intake (which still hasnt come in yet). also i just bought a new car (94' Formula) and i want to make a few passes wth that. so maybe i can meet up with you guys in the next 2 weeks?

I'm trying to get the Friday after next off, so assuming the car is running again, i'll be up there. I haven't even touched the car yet, but i'm relatively sure it's the Fuel pump. I'm gonna put the stocker back in and see if it maintains pressure, and if it does i'll know its the pump.
tpivette,
it was nice meeting you there, wish i could have been there about 3 hours earlier, and with a decent car, but owell...
LOL, the Jeep ran a 17.2@81!!

Yeah, that was me.... Did it have a dent in the back?
I won't be able to make it this coming week, but maybe the week after. It was about an hour drive with my radar detector
so I can't come every week (even though I'd like to - it's a nice track)!
What do you look like? Cause I'm pretty sure I saw the driver of the Vette.

its a 2002 grand Cherokee with the 4.0L inline six. I'm assuming some kind of crap gears. had a full tank of of gas and about 100 pounds worth of crap in the back. The only thing this thing has going for it is the launch. i can stall it up and launch hard enough to beat stocks GTs to about 40. then they walk by like i'm hitting the brakes. owell....
