any local guys that can gimme a hand?
Hey guys. Looking to find someone around here that can help me tune my car. I've got all the stuff except a laptop for the data acquisition program. I've been burning PROM's for a few weeks now but I don't want to get into messing with the fuel curves and timing tables until I have a way of knowing what's going on. So if someone wouldn't mind coming to my place for an afternoon some weekend I would appreciate it. I could give you a couple bucks for your troubles or buy lunch or parts or something to make it worth your while. I live in Severn, MD. It's pretty much right in between Baltimore and DC right off the Parkway. Lemme know if you can help!!

Tony,
If you and Mad-Mic end up needing a hand, lemme know.
I have just been so busy with moving and everything else I have not had much time for anything of late.
Does the car run and drive?

Hey Tony, I'm going to see if I can borrow a laptop this weekend. I just gotta find a RS232 cable quick. When I'm sure I can get I'll give you a call.
We can worry about what to do with the data later on

I've got a laptop we can use, I'm on it right now. Unfortunately this weekend I work 10-6 in Laurel on Saturday, and 12-5 in Annapolis on Sunday.
I can stop by after work on Saturday if that's not too late.
I'm not having my new tranny put in till next week, so I'm leaking a good deal, but it's still driveable.
I have a dilemma myself. I'm trying to take off my busted hatchback, and put on my new one, but the bolts are on so tight I cracked my socket. Would you have anything I could loosen them with, so I could swap it out at my house later?
I'm free some nights this week as well if you want to use my laptop. I'll be checking back here all day. We ah, don't have an Internet connection at work...but I accidentally left my wireless card in, and apparantly someone upstairs is running Wi-Fi, so I'm enjoying this connection at work now, lol.

the tv cable should only be adjusted one way, and that is to have correct line pressure. Follow transfixleo's method on the tranny board.
to play with shift points you have to fool with the governor
having incorrect line pressure will wear out a tranny

Tony,
sorry i didn't make it. didn't think anything was happening and went to visit my grandma in the hospital
sorry no laptop or cable. but here's the update on my situation.
well today i called the dealer and they told me it wasn't an ABS issue. there is a bit of a story behind this. when i first test drove my car i noticed a slight pulsation in the brake pedal. after the dealer inspected this they found that the previous brake job did not put shims behind the pads. (excuse me i do know alittle about how they work and i've done my fair share but don't like too so if i sound alittle sketchy it's cause i haven't done front pads in years.) ok they fixed it upon purchase of the car. today i was told it was not ABS failure. it was a caliper bolt came loose and locked the rotor up. well i had the brakes inspected upon delivery of the car by my personal mechanic and he said at the time (20k in miles ago) i had over 70% pad left all the way around. when the brake failure happened 2 weeks ago a guy that stopped and helped me at 1 am was a mechanic at Mr. Tire. a local shop in my area. he said the rotor was fine and pads had atleast 50% life left on both sides. now mind you this was a visual inspection at night with a flash light.
i've never heard of a caliper bolt coming loose after this many milage and they say this is not covered under warrenty. my question is this. are they trying to put the screws to me because my car has been in the shop for 6 days? they only got it "in" the shop friday (yesterday). do i have any grounds to hold them liable for the previous job? (i save all my documentation of any work performed on all my cars) Guardian warrenty is suppose to cover bumper to bumper plus ABS and all electrical. they fixed the auto lock button on the passenger side. the lumbar they say they are waiting on Guardian to ok the work for the power seat. it is in writing that states the power seats are covered. would this be covered?
