TGO Annual Mid-Atlantic Power at the Point Picnic

This will be our 4th year for the Thirdgen power at the point picnic, located at North Point State Park in Maryland. So, who is planning on coming out?!?

 

Are there going to be burgers??

You can count me in -- and this time I'm bringing the $100 T/A Convertible -- finished the body work and painted her last night (left the shop at 11:30 p.m.). She's beautiful! Pics to be posted soon.

Mark is putting the lights back on her today, new convertible top and my new center caps. Strange thing is she has a regular exhaust -- not dual, I thought these cars came stock with dual exhaust, am I missing something...anyway, don't want to hijack the thread , but just give you a heads up to not look for the purple shadow...lol.

By the way -- why don't you go ahead and give prices and your address so we can sign up now and get the money to you? Similar to what you want to do for next year's Nationals...sound like a plan?

And I have room at my place, I can help anyone without funds for a hotel room if it's too far from home for you to attend otherwise.

count me in for two cars this time. i will make it a point to get off my butt and get the gta in shape.... might even finally fix the exhaust on the old iroc.... it's only been busted since last years picnic!

 

Too bad it's the same weekend as the NHRA race @ Maple Grove. Thirdgens, or Top Fuelers.....hmmmmmmm

Talked to some other 3rd gen owners tonight up here about this picnic. We'll check our calendars and let you know.

there is no outsiders, we are all one big happy family... we would be glad to have ya. it's only about 30-45 min from yall. it's a real good time. there is no set group of us . there has been a different group at every picnic.... come on down you'll enjoy yourself!

 

i would go with the thirdgens, but that is just me

 

Now I know why you're Twisted. Nothing compares to 6000 horsepower and 330 mph, especially a parking lot full of thirdgens

Looks like the costs will be as follows:

$10 ea. person
kids are free
$3 per car for the state park (paid at main park gate)

I was considering the everyone-bring-something approach, but last year we had a couple no-shows on some critical items which left us scrambling to the local food lion.

I would -REALLY- appriciate it if folks would pre-register (think: thirdgen nationals 2005)

well, this makes two shows I won't be able to make, between the money and the time, school is really gettin' in the way of what I want to do with my cars.

 

Bad news for me -- my sister is getting married on the same day as the Picnic. I haven't talked to my sister in nearly two years (disagreement we had about how she treats my two children differently-long story) so this came out of the blue.

Since I want to let by-gones be by-gones, I'm going to the wedding and will have to miss the picnic. If for any reason I have to leave the wedding/reception early I'll know where I can go party, lol.

 

hey Eric....on the beginning of this thread you have the picnic as Sept 24th,however,on the schedule of events you have the picnic as Sept 17th.....is it the 24th or 17th?? thanks!!

 

About how long is this from wilmington, DE? If its not too far, and if i have the iroc tagged I'll make an appearance.

 

Probably less than an hour going south on I-95, provided traffic is not too bad, then over and hour.

I can probably make it up there. First I gotta see if my friend is gonna buy this nice 87 iroc he found. If he gets it I will definantly go, if not, I might go, or bring him for inspiration?
