Hang Out at the Drag Strip

Hey guys longtime no see well im finally making some progress on my RS and my 305 build up. I finally got the heads back from the machine shop and they look great. Still waiting on my new radiator and some gaskets and she will be running again, then the hood needs to be painted cause i took it off a 86 IROC so its a red hood on a green car But anyways i was gonna see if anyone planned on going to Capital or budds anytime soon??

I went to Capitol last night was a bad night, ran .3ths off what i normally run. The car was set up just the same to. Fustrating. I am sure I will make it back before the winter is over, I hope it turns out better. Anyway I am up for a track hangout sounds fun.

hey denis91rs not to rain on your parade but there is a lot of 12 sec 305 out there. go to the drag racing forums and check out waltercraft race cars post (i think that is it anyway). or look up mw66nova hes got some pretty impressive times. low 12's on a 305. but i hope you can get it there that would be very cool, good luck. hope to see that run one day also.

it's .030 over and has an eagle cast crank, ohio crankshaft forged rods and a set of hyperuetectic stock replacement pistons, but it's still the standard stroke. i suppose "technically" it's a 310, but 5 cubes and forged rods ain't putting me out in front of everyone else, i can promise you that.

don't focus on lift as lift doesn't make the horsepower. duration makes horsepower. you'll want something in the 230* @ .050 range. mine is an old magnum 280H cam. 230*/230* @ .050", .480"/.480" 110lsa.

your cylinder heads are gonna hold you back though. what are you doing for converter and gears? what kinda weight mods have you done? how bout suspension and tires? what are you running there?

its got a 700R4 original tranny from 91. It was redone like 3 years ago with a 3500 B&M stall,and a B&M Trans Pak

the rear is the stock housing with Moser 28 spline,3.42 richmond gears and the auburn pro series unit

the heads were the stock L03 castings and i had them worked to the high heaven
intake valves are 1.94 and 1.60 on the exhaust and its all stainless valves,7 degree springs, and full port/polish only thing im worried about with the heads is the compression because we grinded the chambers out
