I am moving to the Chicago area this summer for an internship. I was woundering what the car seen was in the area. Local cruisins, car shows, drag race nights, things of the such.

matt welcome to the area. I'm in schaumburg witch is about 30 min west. as far as shows and racing....shows are thurs,fri,and sat all over.....racing is up to you but the street racing scene is crazy...you gotta have ***** to run by us. Mine isn't fast but there are a few 9 sec mustangs and camaros. imports are abundant and annoying, some are quick though. Keep an eye on what you mess with, it may be too big of a bite. but drop me a line when you get out here and we'll see if we can't get you in.

 

Every month at US 41, there will be a Street Car Chaos event. Also, Union Grove has a similar event called the RSD. These events let the street racers have fun and race at the track. Last year I attended every one (SCC) and they were all a great time. If you have the chance, you should check at least one of these events out.

 

Well I am here now, but my Trans Am is not with me . It was running to hot to make the 6hour trip south to Chicago. Maybe in a week or two I can go back up and fix it and bring it down. When are the dates and locations of the events, tracks, and cruise ins. On the way in to town i was surounded by noisy ugly imports, well two of them were cool but the rest sucked. I need to see some clean and fast fbodies soon.

There is a crazy show every other saturday at Swonny's in aurora. Its a little hotdog joint that usually attracts quite a crowd. The coppers aren't a threat and you get to watch smoker burnouts all night long. First show of the year is this saturday may 11th.

Where in chicago are you staying? what does your internship consist of? What is your area of study. I go to school in Big Rapids MI at ferris state. I am graduating this saturday!!!! Finally!! I will be working at speed Inc. for my internship. Maybe sometime this summer we can hook up.

 

Hey Matt get used to thenoisy ugly imports....As for fast fbodies they're everywhere. that includes first thru forh gens....just be carefull who you cruise with, some of them are not the smartest guys.


By the way....where's this place in Aurora???I've never heard of it. Send directions from woodfield mall and i'll try to show up saturday...may 11th.

does anyone even remember scoop the loop? it has been so long since i was in one. i heard that it isnt in effect anymore as an actually get together but some still go a drive for fun.

 

FakeZcar-- do you have a black camaro with big letters on this side that say iroc-z, if so i tryed to race you one night on shaumberg road with my real iroc but you didnt bit. Maybe some other time hu? anyways i normally go up to value city (mc donalds) off of barrington road. Im still kinda new to the area and that has the biggist turn out of all other places i found. Plus there are a few nice 3rd gens. later man
