anyone looking for a 700R4 for cheap?
I am trying to sell a 1985 700 R4 that I had in my camaro last summer. It ran fine with no slippage although the motor shot a lot of motor oil onto it. That's why I had to tear down the whole motor. The trans ran fine, just the pan gasket leaked a little but I bought a new one.
If you're interested I wanted around $200 for it, pickup only.
UPS wants over $100 just to ship one of these things.
I have a line on a 700R4 trans that has been built to the max, so I am going to let go of this one instead.
I will entertain all reasonable offers.

What a deal!!! Yeah, I have a hard time getting rid of them myself. I've got five or six of them for sale right now.

hey denny,
thanks for the help last night....it was a lot of fun in your muddy driveway....those shoes will never be the same lol.
Well at least the car finally gave up what I wanted....nothing like watching the entire ground effects taken off while I'm working on "one" bolt....lol
good times :lala:

Hey, no problem!!! You should have been here this morning for the adventures of "take the wheels off the '90 IROC." I figured I'd wake up early and pull the rearend out of the car and have it all set for the junkyard to pick up. I figured it was an hour's worth of work at the most. Unfortunately, the car is still at my house. I have two lugnuts and four wheel locks that refuse to come off. I guess some people feel it's necessary to basically weld on the lug nuts so they don't have to worry about them falling off. I don't know how they put the lugnuts on but they completely rounded them off when they did. I spent over an hour on them trying to pound sockets on to get them off but I just keep rounding them off more. I've tried heating them up as well but nothing works. I've even broken some tools on them already. I've got my brother coming over tomorrow and we're going to get them off one way or another. When you part out a car you just assume that pulling the wheels off will be one of the easiest job but you would be suprised how often it turns out to be the worst. Let's just say it was NOT a good morning.

bad lugs? this has worked for me in the past
take a cutoff wheel (if you have one) or a hacksaw, something to put a line gouge in the nut then take a hammer and chiesel and hit it in the direction you want it to go. thats if you dont vare about saving them

We ended up drilling them all out. I've had lots of experience dealing with tough locks and lugs but these were by far the worst.

I'm from OH, according to Mapquest it's a 4 or 5 hour drive to Orland Park, IL. I may be interested if you can meet halfway or something...

Actually it looks like I will have to hold onto that trans for a while since my deal fell through with the built 700R4. SO for right now i'm going to use this trans until the end of summer, then i'll sell it probably.
