Anyone run at Eddyville?

Anybody ever run at Eddyville, IA?

Yeah, I know its about 3 months before the track opens, but I got the 86 going this weekend and have got the itch for racing . I'll be racing about every friday night this summer. I'm also planning on hitting a lot of the early season saturday test and tunes.

i didnt make it down there last season (lots of engine mods being done, not enough time) but went a few times the year before. one hell of a good time. i plan on going this year. ive got to see how all the mods help my times. get a hold of me during racing season and maybe we can get a bunch of 3rd gens to gather and smoke some mustangs.

Nice facility, why dont you boys come on up here to CFR and run the 1/4? New general manager and lots of improvements for this year so it should be lots better than years past...i hope!

Probably gonna leave the car at home for points races, gonna try my damndest to put the truck into the #1 spot for the '04 season. Ended '03 Fall series on a good note, missed 1 entire race and still finished 3rd so we're hopin to carry that momentum into the spring. Once my plow accounts settle up for Dec and Jan I'm going down to oprder my new 9", still debating which motor to rebuild, buy, etc...got my heads though along with a host of other 350cid related stuff, but think I'm gonna get one of Spere's 406-420's and then just put my heads/intake on it-he's gonna do all the assembling and dyno so if it frags for some crazy reason it's his baby not mine Might bring it out for the fun races, night of fire, street races and if I get my motor situation figured out I may just use the car for Tri-Skate since that track sucks anyways. They're changing the points races to Sat. only up here so Sun. I wont have anything to do, hence wasting my money at the Teflon track-Tri-Skate Those guys are too easy to pick off so it's fun to go down and screw up their points.

They're changing the payout in Mod here at CFR to $1K to win along with the S/P $1K to win hopeing to draw in more racers. Of all the tracks I've raced, aside from Cordova, CFR has always had the best track prep on race day, very uncommon for me to see .01 in my 60's in either vehicle listed-on race day!! not T&T's or those midnight street races-points races I'm trying not to get too involved with the politcs of the track, I just want to go out and give the guys one hellofa run at winning the points for '04. I'll make it back to run in the World Series for sure again this year as it was a blast last year, I'd go down just to watch, but I got a car so why not race?! If your plannin on makin it to that let me know and we'll try to hook up down there. Just stay away from me in the lanes

I raced at cfr once last year in the 95 v6 and many many nights in the high school class at eddyville, also with the v6. I must say though, I think eddyville's facilities are 10x better than cfr's. A lot more of it is paved and they take much better care of the track IMO. Plus you can get a ton more runs in at eddyville most nights. It'll be interesting to see what the new management does with cfr.

I plan to hit all 3 tracks with the 86 (cfr, tri-state, and eddyville) this year sometime. But I will be at eddyville nearly every friday night race this summer, so just let me know if anyone wants to go along. If you need directions let me know too.

What you dont like the buddy system ****ter in the corner of the john? Yeah, they have much to be desired, but that also is on the to-do list. We had a drivers meeting so we could air what we'd like to see changed. It was a really productive night and the new guy-Mike Klemme for any of you that recoognize the name-is fresh and looking forward to change. It also helps he literally grew up racing and gave it up to take this position. Like anything the changes will take time, so if they can make a little progress this year and make an impression hopefully in the 2nd and 3rd year it will only get better. Lots of potential there, just need smart people to run it is all. I could go on about some of the shaddy people from the past but that's another story.
