Whats everyones project for their third gen this winter?

Just wondering what all you crazy third geners are doing to the rides this winter. I'll start. 383 stroker, holley stealth ram, nitrous,
roll cage, rebuilding my entire exhaust system, and then the mess will end with a fast ecm. hopefully i can get a few drives before the trans takes a dump.

Almost finished re-ringing the 400, install Spohn SFC's, Lakewood LCA's , Centerforce DF clutch, install 140 speedo, and if I can find a decent posi rear I'll put that in too.

Oh, and at least put some decent sealing primer on the car instead of the rattle can stuff I have on it now.

It should be late spring or summer by then....

A black interior swap. Still need to remove the console and carpet, fix the 1 rust spot on my passenger floorboard, run new speaker lines and reinstall all the new black pieces I got. After that I'll replace the top and call it good for a while so I can start saving for all the suspension upgrades I want to do.

Please take pictures. I know you will, right?

I am especially interested in what a 450HP 350 will look like in that engine bay.

Mine is getting a 383 as well. Don't have all of the specs! Gotta wait for the engine builder to get caught up a little. A/C delete box, 8 pt roll cage, sub frame connectors new carpet. That should keep me more than busy!!

hey AJB,

I was over in Tomah last year, at Fort McCoy being moblized for kuwait/ Iraq. Bet you have a hard time finding any parts. Anyways just thought that was kinda cool. i'll be back sometime this winter might be able to stop by and give you a hand or just check out the project.

I have been talking to differant shops but, a long story short is once you ask about the add on like steam holes and such they never seem to get back to you? and when they do it is never the final total price they like to leave it up in the ball park

My car is finally getting painted this winter (Didn't I say that a couple of years ago?) Well, it's on the bodyman's schedule, so it shall be done.

I'm pulling the engine out so he can paint the engine compartment (and so I can re-paint the engine and detail everything).

The goal is to have it ready for Thirdgenfest '05.

Going to rebuild the front end and replaces all bushings and shocks and springs to get that new car ride back. 100,000 on the shocks let those go for a little to long Couple more years wife will graduate college then there will be some serious projects and along with refrigerated keg going on , in this mans garage.

Finishing my 383

Specs;

Miloden Splayed mains
Eagle Light weight crank
Eagle H-beams
SRP 405 Gram forged pistons
Align honed decked balanced and blueprinted
CC306-08 Cam matching comp springs ( I think 987's)
Mini Ram
AFR 195's
Nascar titanium valves
Comp titaium retainers
Chrome-moly push rods
Comp-R lifters
ATI Superdampner
Fidenza Aluminium Flywheel
Spec Stage III ceramic clutch
T-56

Should have the engine bay repainted in three weeks and drop the motor and trans in on the 4th week.
Still have to take the car over to an interior shop and have the A&M softseals reset. That and I need to take the drivers door off and gring a little to gt the body lines to match.
And get the ghost flames put on the front end.

I will be ending my four year affair this spring. Since my trans blew in september of 2001 I have been buying high priced items for my 87' hard top GTA. So the car itself has been sitting for three and a quarter years, with 188k on a clean body just a lil rust. So here are the parts that I have bought so far. This stuff is all spanking new.
-Trickflow 23*aluminium-1.47dualsprings
-Compcam 270HR/270/270@.006or215/215@.05-110lca-.500I/E
-Compcam hydraulic roller lifters
-Eagle cast crank
-Eagle forged con rods-5.7in
-Speedpro Hypercraptastic pistons-1.56compheight-5ccdish,mollyrings by speedpro
-1987-350-torqueplated bored .030 over,Honed for molyrings,new cam"king-berings"berings, Zero decked block to 9in
-Clevtte77 mainberings
-ARP-Main, head, and rod bolts
-Edelbrock truroller timing chain
-Off brand waterpump stock type, Off brand Harmonic ballencer stock type, these will be replaced with better parts maby
-stock distrubitor
-700-r4, purchased from reliable shop down south, 2800-3200 stall"dayco brand I think?", Better than corvette servo, full upshift 3-4 valve thingy, fullmanuel shift kit, a bunch of extra clutch disks in all gears but more in 2-3gear,10vayne pump, and other stuff I cant recall. This trans was like 1300.00 an change
-Hedman headers long tube ones, need to weld o2 bung in for 3wire hookup

Now the things I need to finsh it off
-LT1 intake and prom from www.lt1intake.com
-1.6 roller rockers-self align for centre bolt heads
-hardened pushrods
-A whole host of sensors
-injectors(what size will depened on final calculations. but somewhere around28-32pph)
-MT drag slicks
-subframe connectors
-shim up the 9 bolt(posi is on last limbs, 3series 3.27 carrier)
-A fine azz chick to ride gun!
-oil pump
-aluminum drive shaft
-and other stuff im sure

Once I have the above mantioned items I will be getting rid of stock tpi intake set up. So give me a holla if you need one. will be selling it in april.

4500.00 in recipts and 3.25 years of it not on road, and other traumas suffered along the way because of it, As in my 83 Aries daily driver.

This Is The Price Of Speed, I want to say that the TGO board is the best source for info for my 1987 GTA. It has help in so many ways over the last three years, boy what a trip. I don't think I would do it again. I can say that this engine should put me in the high 11 second range. I have had this car sitting for so long I can't wait to drive it with four hundred plus ponnies under that sloped sexy hood! I think I'll cry when its done, actually I plan to. For me the addiction to this car has been unreal, I am a third gen feind The last time I drove her I was a senior in high school, so I think it will be a time machine for me now being 22. The feeling of whipping the dog poo out of all my ford friends will be worth it. This car will be the envy of a lot of my friends also when it's done, they are all as jittery as me. So I want to thank Every one of you on TGO for being as mental as me. We all know of the Kids, Wives, and Girlfriends that we have neglected to pursoo our sick fetishes with the 82-92 F-body platforms.

To all the twisted freaks at TGO

Thank You
