My custom Y-pipe

I just had my custom Y-Pipe made in Joliet, IL. This is the only place that I found that has a mandrel bender, so if anyone is planning on doing your exhaust check this guy out. His name is Mike and has very reasonable prices. I was able to get my y-pipe made 3" with cutouts for $225.00 all stainless pipe and nice tig welding.

Company Name:
Sasser Custom Exhaust
Address: 308 Republic
Location: Joliet, IL 60435 United States
Phone No: 815-741-1201

Here is my 3" Custom Mandrel Bend Y-Pipe w/ Cutouts.

Mike will do anywork you bring to him. He even let me store my car overnight because I was moving and did not have time to pick it up that day. As for the cutouts I bought them from Summit, he is just starting and looking for more business, so just stop by and set something up with him. I told him he could have a lot of business from the 3rd gen and other if if start browsing the local boards

Awesome, let him know in a month or so I will bring my Camaro down to him for my exhaust, it is so hard to find a good exhaust shop around the Chicagoland area so this is great.

Sorry but i'm driving to Houston, Tx. I have spend a 14 months in Chicago Suburbs and look forward to the warm weather of TX. I might be able to drop the convertible top today with the expected 75*. Im still in the process of driving and just stop in a town call Atlanta, Tx for a overnight nap. I will be in Houston later today. Just shoot him an email and he will respond, that how I was in contact with him before I drove to Joliet (51 Miles) to have the work done.

Here is his email:

That looks like a top-notch job!! I'd love to have one simular, but w/o the cutouts. Only other one I've seen on the board that was that nice was a "X" type that bolted to the header collectors.

BTW, DTL504 - Did you ever dyno it? That's a nice ride you have there! I seen one other '84 convertable at a small show here in town...I never knew they existed in '84 till then. Was it originally a dealer installed option?

Anyways, good luck at your next duty station!
