Does anyone know Russell Obergfell from O'Fallon, MO and/ or have a way I can contact him? I sent him a money order for $325 for a TPI setup and headers at the end of July. He hasn't been on here since the beginning of this month and I haven't heard from him. Needless to say, I'm not very happy about the whole situation.

Thanks. I hate to do that to someone, but if I can't get ahold of him by next Monday then I guess it's what I'll have to do.

Did anyone get a PM with his phone number? I know he's tried to sell his car on here and he was looking to trade the TPI for a carb and intake.

Well, he got online Sunday morning and replied to a pm I had sent him a couple of weeks ago. Here's the reply he gave me:

Re: Has the TPI shipped yet?
hey i havent had the intermetn for a while shitty charter ./.. you never revcieved it ? my boss mailed that **** out long ago ... if you got it please dont lie ... jsut tell me if you feel it was an unfair price ... if not then let me know ill talk to him tommorrow and if not then ill send your money ok ? sorry this didnt work out ... i guess thats what happens when you rely on pther pople

I sent him another pm last night to see what his boss had to say and let him know that if I hadn't received information that I was satisfied with by Thursday that I was going to report him to the USPS. At this point I have to warn anybody from dealing with him unless it is in person and the money and merchandise are exchanged at the same time. Wouldn't $325 amount to a felony?

$500 up.
Unless criminal mischief and intent can be proven then the da can press for felony.
Or if this is not the first time.

that guy kept asking me about buying my rear a while back... I was wondering why that name seemed familiar. He would keep saying I am interested, then nothing. Then interested then nothing...

He must be like that. He kept telling me that he wanted to sell it but kept putting me off on where to send payment. I guess he was still hoping to trade for a carb and intake. Too bad he didn't because I wouldn't have to deal with this .

I do have an intake off an 89 if you are interested. Everything but injectors.
No harness, no ECM.

To be honest I would have been leary just over the cost. I sold my hooker 2055's for 275 alone... I am looking for 225+S&H for the intake. And I perfer to deal with paypal not money orders.

I was really only interested because of the price and that it was complete with harness and ecm. It sounded like he just wanted to get rid of it to get an intake and carb. My dad started a 42 Chevy truck street rod project and I thought that this would make the perfect Christmas present and I could keep the headers for my son's car. I am looking for a TPI setup for an 87 though. Someone polished the runners and plenum on the one in the car now and I would like to replace those to have the correct look. I really only need those parts for it though.

The first step has been completed in the filing of charges though. I had to pay $3.15 at the post office just to find out if the money order had been cashed. Since I'm having to put out more money on this deal I'm even more irritated and I will see it through to the end. The best case scenario at this point is that it wasn't cashed and I'll get a new money order issued and cash it myself and be done with the whole thing. The post office said that I will get a record of when it was cashed and by whom, which is probably why he offered to knoxie90 as payment on the car. That way he could say that it had been lost or stolen and be free and clear on the deal. I really am not looking to create any sort of a problem for him, but I really hate getting screwed over on anything. If I open my mailbox tomorrow and find a money order from him then I'll be done and walk away form the deal satisfied.

Maybe it was, but price is based on demand. He had it posted for a while trying to get more with no responses, then he posted hoping to get 250. If there weren't so many people with a strong desire to own a mint 69 Camaro Z-28, they wouldn't be worth 50k+. He didn't even know the brand of the headers or state the condition. For all I know they were rusty and dented. I thought THAT was one of the only gambles I was taking on this deal.
