Camaro Superfest 2007
Even though its 6 months away and the site is still from 2006 , I called the Marriot today and reserved my rooms. They also said that there is already a discount for people who are attending the show. Its 89 a night. I also called because i wanted to reserve a room on a higher floor facing the parking lot. Anybody else planning on attending next year?

I think its a good show. We had a great time last year. I could really care less about the judging though. I go to have a good time and to see the other cars.

This is going to be an even better show this year. We're working on getting more vendors and sponsorship to make it a better show. The website is being updated with the latest information. The guy we have doing it has a lot going on and lives in CA now so it's been slow going getting it updated. It's an awesome show now that the location has moved to the Riverside Park in Depot Town in Ypsilanti. I joined the West Michigan Camaro Club last year and am helping with the planning for the show this year. Check out http://www.camarosuperfest.com/ for the latest info.

try to work on better parking for the show. the location is fine for those entered but a pain for anyone that just wants to visit. it would be really nice if a section of the area could some how be used for show patrons even if it was only 30 cars at a time. i spent more time trying to find a parking spot last year and walking to the show then walking through it.
has anyone hit up any of the various publishing companies also? definately need more things going on and the new location limits that. hopefully you guys can pull it off this year as the first year with a new move is always difficult.
with "pinks" shooting a show june 30th for speed television at milan dragway it would be a really smart idea if someone incorporated this into the saturday night agenda and even better to work some sort of thing out with the two shows together, wouldn't be hard to do and would really help the draw..

The guy updating the web site lives in another state and has been very busy trying to get things updated. I haven't heard yet when registration will be online. I will try to find out this Sunday at our club meeting.
As for the Pinks thing, that won't happen since Saturday night is the banquet night for the show. Pinks wasn't even happening when the planning was started for this year's show.
I don't know about the parking situation. I wasn't in the club last year and don't know the details of how much parking there was but I'll bring it up in our club meeting as well.
We are working on more sponsors and vendors for this year's show and many that have been contacted have been slow to respond. If you have more ideas, let me know and I'll bring them up in our meetings.

that's unfortunate the banquet on saturday night kills the 30 and under show crowd as i'm sure most will be at milan anyway, would have been nice to have superfest have some sort of tie in even if it was a discount of sorts worked out with milan.
car shows do not have to be oldies music, scrap yard vendors and kids running around. with all the new people joining the list to help i hope you guys can pull it off but it won't be easy. the numbers have been steadily dropping over the years and it isn't because they don't make the camaro anymore. if things keep going the way they do the show might as well be dropped down to a one day event.
don't get me wrong, i love camaro's, car shows and even camaro superfest as i've been coming to the show since 97 when i first heard about it and i've had at least one car there 6 times. everything is always down to personal opinion and obviously the above is mine and while i'm a huge supporter of the show regardless of how i may come off i've lost alot of faith in the show over the years. i use to attend the show with a minimum of 35-40 cars and double that amount in people who came to look and hangout at the show.
now i go by myself and the last two years i haven't even brought a car..

Wade, myself and the rest of the Superfest staff are in the planning stages for the show this year. We are having somewhat regular meetings to get things organized and set for this years show. The spectator parking situation has been noted and will be discussed at our next meeting. If you guys have any other questions or comments please speak up. We like suggestions!
Thanks,
James

I will be there. It will be my fifth or sixth year year (and my 3rd Camaro).
Part of the attendence issue is probably due to the uncontrollable-the weather. It has rained on that weekend for 4 of the last 5 years. Not too much that can be done about that.
The park that it was held at last year is very nice. I agree that spectator parking could be an issue. I wouldn't mind if they moved it back to the college, primarily because the college was closer to where I live - quicker drive.
