Just out of curiousity, If anyone is willing to share, What are you paying to insure your car? Who do you go thru? If you've had a claim were they easy to work with?

I'm asking because i need to insure the RS and I want to change companies on my truck and full coverage is like whoa! More than my payments almost.

I'm 28 with a clean record.

Mine is 20 years old now so I use Haggerty..
I pay $230 a year for it now....

Esurance though everyone says is great especially if you are young
Try to see if one of your rents will be the primary on it..

If all else fails buy a 200 Tempo, put that as your primary, say the Camaro is a show car, and bingo CHEAP insurance..not that I ever did that....

i havent checked prices on my camaros insurance yet, but im on my parents insurance, and we currently have like 9 cars on our insurance, so we are technically considered a fleet.. and full coverage on my ranger is only like 100 bucks a month... if i would took out the policy in my own name it would have been about 200ish...

nice deal there

im also 28, and clean record and i have gotten quotes to get insurance in my name for my vehicles but its still crazy sky high here in IL even though ive never been in any trouble of any kind,

so i keep it in my grandmas name, dirt cheap this way

im not in the business of wanting to make insurance companies money and ive never been in an accident and im mostly a good driver, even after all the billions of vehicles i have owned since i got my license in 94

insurance is like the bank, theyre really only after making money even though they are supposed to be fair and neutral, or atleast they should be

plpd on my daily cars. my 91 rs is 130. my 92 rs is 136. my 91 z28 is 160. my show 91 z28 is $580 a year for absolute coverage..worth every penny. someone come get it so i can go put a down payment on my lamborghini.

the daily drivers are plpd which is why they are so cheap. in michigan plpd is worthless as unless your car recieves over $1,000 in damages the police won't write a report. so in short i pay that just so i can legally take one of the cars to a party store and back, the baseball bat is the real insurance.

Re: Insurance :(
When I bought mine (@ 18) I paid $165 for full coverage. When I turned 19 it dropped to $117. I now have PLPD on it for darn cheap b/c of the accident. I go through a company called LaValley Ins. Which uses Citizen's Auto Ins. Fortunately I have 0 points in MI (home) and 2 in OH due to recent events - so Ins. doesn't care.

'91 L03 w/ 137K when I bought it.Aug '05 ... 167K now

What company do you use? I assume you have your parents on the same policy.

I am 17, clean record, and seeing how much it would be to insure a 92 RS, here is what my agent said:

..." We cannot put it on your parents policy because that is a restricted car with Constitutional Casualty for a young operator. My initial guess off the top of my head is at least $800-$900 every six months just for liability..."

It was a RS, it had the ****-*** 305 pumping out a whopping 170HP...

I'll have to wait and see what the exact number will be.

I'm 19 and the insurance for a year on a suzuki gsx-r1100 for me, under my name, is 790 for a year. In SD you can start driving when you're 14, and i've never had any accidents. 2 tickets for 5 over, but that's it. I have been driving for almost 6 years compared to 4 though.

Re: Insurance :(
I pay ~300/6 months full coverage with limits of 500K/1million $250 deductible.
31 years old with clean record, 4 cars, 1 crotch rocket, and a house.

Country Preferred Insurance Company.

That's probably gonna go up though since when i'm done building my car i'm going to have it insured for appraised value. My insurance guy is going to try and get it through as a specialty vehicle which he said will make it cheaper.

Re: Insurance :(
I have 2 speeding tickets, one wreck, and an SR-22 (high-risk). The SR-22 is not my fault. I am 19 and my company is called Direct. I pay about $125 per month for just liability only (in my name).

Edit: Just realized this is about 2months old...whoops!

Re: Insurance :(
I'm 41, been with State Farm since I was 16. Never had a ticket or a claim in 25 years. Living in Illinois.

I pay $172 per month for my 2003 Chevy Venture (full coverage), 2002 V-6 Dodge Dakota (full coverage), and my 1989 T/A (liability).

Cheap because I have multiple line coverage with them (cars, home, and my wifes nursing liscense insurance).
