[OH] Stolen '85 LS1 Trans Am(4/05/2013)
My Bird was stolen last Friday April 5th 2013. From Newark, Ohio. 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
The clutch master cylinder couldn't hold pressure and the battery wasn't in the car. So it wasn't exactly driveable so it almost certainly would've been hooked up by the rear wheels.
After checking with neighbors, lease office, impound lots, police, salvage yards, and towing companies I do not have any leads as to where to find my car.
I invested 100s of hours and thousands of dollars into the car; Not to mention the busted knuckles that comes with it. So most of you can understand my frustration.
Description: Maroon with Gold GTA wheels, Cowl Hood, Wrinkle in Pass. fender, missing Pass. fog light.
Ohio License Plate: FGV 9129
Any information or leads please message me or call me. Tyler (740) Six41 76Two4, lv msg
Thanks guys(and gals)

list some more details, like brand/size of tires, radio, interior color, and big dollar parts. Watch your area craigslists, ebay, swap meets, and flea markets. You may also want to post this to your local craigslists as well. The harder you make it to get rid of parts the more apt you are to find it. GL

Check Craiglist,(do it for your state and states near by) and Ebay and start to see if parts are popping up. If its not running, they will prob. part it out.
Good luck

Re: [OH] Stolen '85 LS1 Trans Am(4/05/2013)
Unfortunately I have not heard a whisper. I did file a police report. And thank god I had liability plus comprehensive insurance. So theft is covered. But insurance did not cover HALF of what I had in it.
The hood was a 2.5 inch Hardwood bolt on hood. The tires were all Kumho ASX 16". The Engine was a 1999 Trans Am LS1 motor, factory exhaust manifolds, silver painted intake manifold. The transmission is a T56 6 speed. Gold GTA wheels with GTA center caps. One center cap has some sort of heat or chemical damage to the logo.
I don't know if I will ever see this car again. I cashed in on the insurance, so if its recovered, it belongs to the insurance co. But the insurance said they would give me a ring if it recovered, and that I wou;d have the opportunity to buy it back.
Thank you to all who have taken the time to look. I have also posted this information on related forums.)

Well, it has been over two years now. The car has not been recovered. It seems its gone for good. It was great car, despite the minor problems it gave me.
I'm sure I'll find another one, but it's never gonna be the same as "my first third gen".
Cheers,
tg

Sorry to hear. Best anti theft measure is just to keep them locked up in a garage (windows covered so no one can peek in ) and have security cameras covering every side.
Sometimes I wonder how more cars weren't stolen back before anti-theft measures came out. (Back in the days when you could just punch the column and steal Vettes and every other car. )
