Central Illinois Third Gen Club
Ok, its time to start a club for thirdgens. Our first meeting will be the first Sunday in March. Will get the actual date. I will try to find some place we could all meet with our cars. I am saying March because weather should be good enough to drive our cars and show them off and give more people a chance to see this. Let me know whose up for this and maybe name ideas? I think Central Illinois Third Gens is fine, if noone objects, we'll keep it. I'll be president, and other position are open. 86 Street gets first bid on positions since he came up with the idea with me. Later
well if your pres you know i come right under you. you should know that. you know i am a power freak. with cars and statute. if i have insurance by then ill be up for it. dont know yet though. ill get back to ya. in other wards i guess ill be VP

I think that sounds cool, I'll be below whatever is vice president, unless its secratary! I think begining of april would be a better time, cause then it gives the garage guys more time to put the insurance on there cars, just a thought, and march does have a possibility to have nasty weather still.
I'd be up for attending a meeting. I have to agree that a saturday would be a little better. Don't really know about March since mine don't come out usually until some time in April, but I'd still show.
I actually thought we'd have a few more replys to this topic by now. Just a thought, but should this just be a thirdgen club? How many of you have friends with a 1st, 2nd or 4th generation F Body? Like I said, it's just a thought. Remember there is already the MFBA that is mainly the chicago area.

not sure as of right now. thinking well just have it as a 3rd gen. unless some people reply and say good reasons why we should have it another way. i mean that was the original intent of it. we are not sure of what the limitations are for the club. we will still need to review that stuff. i mean there are some that are nice. then there are just camaro's and firebirds. one of the rules should be like you have to have either a v8 or alot done to a v6. b/c we cant say just v8 b/c of the tta's and crap like that. its an idea

Ok, we will wait until the first Saturday in April. Thats probably better anyways. My far will be painted for sure by then and in time to show off. I am guessing we are going with Pizza Inn for the spot. On Sterling Ave. right pass the mall. [Just make sure if you do a burnout, do it on the side street. I got yelled at about 3-years ago at a cuise inn there for doing a good minute burny in the parking lot-and the pavement is still gone there!!
] Hold the meeting inside, get some food, chit chat, and then go and check out our cars. As far as generations and what not. ALL THIRD GENS WELCOME. 4-banger to V-8. Any third gen is still a third gen. Other gens are still welcome but like 86Street said the clubs focus is on thirdgens, but would still love to see some older muscle along with new.
Positions
President: Michael (Camrs89) Me
VP: 86Street
Other positions will be up for grabs at the meeting.

stay third gen. the only reason is that there are soooo many of them out there. that would be cool to get together. if in peoria it is a definite for me. i live in macomb so it is only like an hour away.
I think that this club is a good idea and we should get together. However, i thikn that we may need ot do it on a Sat. and make it a little later in the month and that will give some people time to finish thier cars and get them looking good. I think i fwe really get to satrting this thing it will be awesome for all in it. Maybe we can make an exception for older muscle cars but its just an idea

I'm going to be transfering to western a year and a half from now, but I won't have a third gen anymore. it will be a 4th though, is there anything wrong with comparing? after all I WILL be a former third gener.

Well all we need is people to show up, if they have their cars there cool, if not we'll see them eventually. As far as updates, post here and that fbody shootout looks cool, kinda far away though, and i may have to leave earlier 55 mph on the interstate. Damn 3.73 gears.

, but IF I have it by then I'll be damned If anybody can stop me from attending. Can my old man come he has a vette. I know it is a vette but I have come to love and except him. Hey by the way have we set up a meeting place. I might be able to set us up were I work. You know the company that makes the big yellow machines around here. Anyway drop and line and tell me what is going on.

Yeah, any muscle car can come really, as a guest or whatever. The more people the better IMO. I was going to say Pizza Inn, but if we expect a bigger turnout than 20 cars, we probably should go with Caterpiller. Right?

Id like to be informed about the clubs first meeting, my email address is MacKoRn@aol.com
cvpde37@webtv.net
Not sure if I'm going to join the club or not, but that won't stop me from making some gatherings. Our first local cruise in is going to be April 27 here in the Quad Cities. If you're going to have something in April I'll definitely try to make it if I'm not working.

Hey, sorry i havent replied yet. I've been working on the camaro all weekend (Paint job...yeah, another red car...)
Anyways,
We are going to meet at Pizza Inn on the First Saturday of April at 4:30 p.m. I have to go check see if we need to reserve or anything like that but I doubt it.
For those of you out of town, take I-74 till the Gale exit and turn left onto that coming from south or turn right if you are coming from the north and stay onto the road until you come to the Resivior/Sterling intersection, which you will take a right onto Sterling and get immediatly into the left side of the lane because the turn is the next turn on the left. Not too hard to miss. If you see the mall, you've gone too far.
Please let me know in advance if you can make it or not. Please try to get the 'Maro or Bird out and polish her for a group picture.
If anyone wants to volunteer to start a homepage for the club, let me know.
Maybe we can all see about get club t-shirts and cool stuff like that.
The more members, the better, so find all your Third Generation friends and everyone try to come and bring your cars unless bad weather or its getting worked on.

Th idea is cool, but stay away
from biased ideas in your club like "the persons car should be modified" or the "the persons car should have to have a v8" I mean.. everyone appreciates their car in their own way.. maybe someone has a v6 firebird, bone stock.. but loves it.. more power to em.. hell.. thats the persons car who will get the most trophies 20 years from now at a car show for not being messed with. as you know..original stock =high value in the future.. I love mods. but dont hold it against those who dont.. the club should be for people who have third gens.. and love their cars enough and are proud enough of their cars to want others to see their car and maybe catch a spectator that see's their car and nods at them and says.. "hey, I really like how it looks totally original"

IMO and as President a camaro is a camaro (or firebird) v-8 or v-6, all third gens are welcome.
Anyways, I liked last night at my house. At one point we had 5 third gens...Travis's 91 RS convertible, Allan's 86 Z-28, Jameys 85 Trans Am, My 89 RS, and Dave showed up for a little bit in his 88 Camaro. We even had two LeMans over last night. My 1972 and Steve drove Joe's 68 over.
Hey thanks for coming over and helping last night with my car. We got it to start now with a push button mounted in the dash, thanks steve!!!
