Thought I’d say hi, post a little intro here and share my Mom’s car. Hopefully be a progress thread too. She bought this in 2000 as a fun summer car when I was still in high school. We got to cruise around on several occasions and I got to drive a little too but the biggest fan was the family dog! Anyway, school, life and lots of other adulting things ensued in my life, while hers was spent dealing with some health related issues and such. So the car got parked. Last registration sticker got put on in 2010. Dad had it stored in a building and would start it up when he could. We lost mom in 2017 and dad 2 years later. That’s when I officially got the Camaro. It’s nothing special or super rare, just 48k on the clock, no body rust and still in once piece. Z28, 305 with the five speed. It was partly repainted at some point in the 90s and I put a different shifter **** on, but is otherwise stock and original from what I can tell.
So far, it needs a fuel pump and rear shocks. The trunk latch motor died long ago so that needs dealt with too. My hope was to let our youngest daughter take it to prom but I have my doubts it’ll be ready in time.
ill post some more pics and progress as I get them.
That's a nice looking Camaro. And of course the family ties and memories make it priceless. My first NEW car was a '91 RS in Arctic White with the white 16" wheels, so I love the look.
Look forward to watching your progress.
My 2 cents...if you want to post a "build thread", most folks put them in this forum. Not sure you'll get much traffic through here from folks not in the midwest. Auto Detailing and Appearance
Welcome! Great car, to this day for me the 3rd gen Camaro convertible is still up there in the group of my top list for drop top cars. The lines are just so nice.
