Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

37, 000 original miles. No rust. Clean title, never salvaged, clean interior, and best of all runs great. Just starting with some general maintenance things at this time.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

Here are some photos of my beloved 67 camaro. I sold her 4 years ago. Bought it right before I turned 16 y/o. Original 327 with a 2 speed powerglide transmission. My wife talked me into selling it when I was finishing graduate school. I soooooo regret it. She knows how much it still kills me so my new convertible is a way to allow me to get some of her back. I am very excited to drive the vert this summer. I really never had any plans to buy one. I had seen a nice Iroc vert for sale last summer. Just decided to go check it out. Drove it on a summer night and that was it, I knew I had to have one.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

you a good man !! Whats wrong with that 92?? when you spoke about it sounded like it had alot of things wrong with it. sounds like it needs a new top "very common" and he says "new seat" ? Im thinking "re-upholster" but either way it looks very good. Heck it makes mine look like crap, especially since a dog went to town on my front end and ripped the spoiler off and chewed my fenders and I need a new top and a so called NEW SEAT.

It also says it is a 1991. I can't see the 25year under the Z28 on the dash so it may be a 1991, not 1992 like the ad banner/title says.

Dennis .. you need to look at that interior shot one more time ... I dont know about you but I have 20/20 vision and it is pretty fant to see but it does have a dab or red under the yellow Z28 emblem .. which the red im guessing is the part that says "25 Anniversary" if they gave a speedo shot then it would be a dead give away if it had Orange gauges.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

looks like a very very nice car, i live in missouri and occasionally go to winterset, iowa to visit the in-laws, where in iowa are you? also, i'd be sure to give that whole car, including undercarriage and wheelwells, a real good cleaning, you drove it in the midwest during winter so you def. got salt on it, would be a shame for rust to start popping up on an original 37,000 mile car

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

When I talked to the guy about it he said that it ran just fine. Has a few rust bubblings in the rear wheel wells. Speedomenter/odometer was not working, so mileage is basically unknown. The seat needed a new cover. It is a 1992. If you save the picture to your computer you can blow it up and it does have the 25th anniversary emblems. He also told me it was a 1992. I bet you could get it for under $4000. Doesnt sound like a bad car. Needs a little work.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

Nice buy! It reminds me of my car when I bought it back in 2001 with 32,000 miles.

What does the RPO code sticker look like? From the pictures, it sure looks like you've got my car's twin. Leather seats, Ultra Metallic Blue, grey interior, LB9/automatic, etc.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

It is in really nice original condition. It has a few scratches in the paint here and there. The front end needs painted and the lower fiberglass bumper is pealing paint. Runs great, which really makes me happy. It needs some TLC. It doesnt look near as sweet as your ride, but hopefully I will get her looking better. I love the ultra metallic blue, I have already had several people comment on how much they like the color.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

find an extra throttle body and the 6 screws that hold on the little plate are the same that can hold down that dist cover. P.s. Look for a corvette one cause those are metal and the camaros are plastic. Also you can find some almost identical screws for that dist. cover at home depot but they are in the hardware section in the plastics drawers.

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

Congrats on the find! Hope it treats you well! You're going to love it even more come summer!

The one on wheelsfsbo.com is not too bad - I spoke with the guy when I was looking for mine. Sounds pretty good, needs a top, some minor rust and could use a rear main seal. Still in pretty good shape for the money - good 'ol farmer owns it, if anyone is in the area I reccommend checking it out...

Re: Check out my new 91 Z28 Convertible

Congrats on the great buy and welcome to the vert family of 3rd gens.

While I have only has my Z for 21 years, I fully understand a wife continuously strongly suggesting selling one's 'dream car'. My wife finally had me agree to sell mine in 2003. I agreed to $10,500 and was in my IROC on the way to meet the buyer and sign the papers when my heart took over from my brain. I called the buyer on his cell and told him - SORRY NO DEAL. He was pissed and I am still relieved. If you fall in love with your Z a fraction of what I did, you are in for a great ride.

BTW - please post some pics taken in good lighting.

It is this cursed stuff that falls from the sky when it gets too cold to go outside without a long sleeve jacket. It is white and miserable to drive around in, it also has a tendency to attract governments to apply salt to the roads in an attempt to melt it. The Salt then attracts moisture and sticks to your car and accelerates the rusting process...
